R+B star Whitney Houston is planning a spectacular comeback with an album of new material in early 2007. The singer – who last week split from husband Bobby Brown – has endured a torrid time since her last LP, One Wish: The Holiday Album, hit stores in 2003. She and Brown have both battled drug addiction and spent time in rehab. But Houston is conspiring with music mogul Clive Davis to make a comeback, and may even perform live at Davis’ famous Grammy Awards party next year.

Davis tells PageSix.com, “We are reviewing material right now. It is too early to say if Whitney is going to perform, but I would hope she would be in the running. “She looks radiant and is clearly together. “She is talking enthusiastically and is articulate. We are going to make a great album. In my opinion, the best singers in the world are Aretha Franklin and Whitney. That’s not to knock Mariah Carey. Mariah is a friend of mine, but I think Mariah would even say those two are the best.” [Source]
