Taylor Momsen, one of the stars of hit series “Gossip Girl,” was hospitalized last Sunday due to a serious throat infection.

“She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday,” said the actress’ doctor Shawn Nasseri in a statement.

Nasseri added that Momsen is undergoing medication and is expected to be back for work later this week.

CW network officials said that they’re looking forward to Momsen’s speedy recovery.
