Pamela Anderson, an honorary director of PETA, told UsMagazine.com in a statement: “There are far more dogs than homes everywhere, but the crisis in Louisiana is prompting people to open their hearts and doors to animals in trouble.”

The actress paid for local adoption, flea treatment and spay and neutering costs to get the dogs over to the animal rights organisation’s base in Virginia, according to the US magazine.

Anderson added: “The real key to both the local and national homeless animal crisis is to spay and neuter dogs and cats and to always adopt – never buy from pet shops.”

The former Baywatch star launched her first signature fragrances Malibu Blue and Malibu Pink last year and is now branching into men’s scents. She has been developing the musky cologne for months, and has finally perfected the formulation.

Anderson and Whitewood earned a total of 21 points from the judges.
