Dr. Conrad Murray, 58, was led away in handcuffs after the Los Angeles jury reached a unanimous verdict. The doctor, who could face up to four years in prison, will be sentenced on 29 November.

Murray had pleaded not guilty to giving the “Thriller” singer a fatal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol – normally used in surgery – that was ruled the main cause of the pop star’s 25 June 2009 death.

But prosecutors argued Murray was grossly negligent in administering the propofol to help Jackson sleep. Defence attorneys claimed Jackson delivered the fatal dose to himself.

The judge ordered Murray, who has been free on bail for two years, held in custody until his sentencing at the end of the month.

Murray did not testify at the Los Angeles trial and looked impassive as the guilty verdict was pronounced to a small cry from his side of the packed courtroom.

Jackson’s mother Katherine and the singer’s sister Rebbie cried silently as the guilty verdict was read. His siblings La Toya, Jermaine and Randy, and his father Joe, were also on hand.

A law enforcement source told The AP that Houston physican, Dr. Conrad Murray, will be prosecuted on a theory of gross negligence.

Dr. Murray, who had been hired to help the King of Pop prepare for a marathon London concert series, was at the 50-year-old singer’s rented mansion when paramedics arrived on June 25, finding him unconscious.

Kravitz gave an interview with Spinner shortly after Michael’s death where he mentioned working with him on a song that hadn’t been released. Kravitz called it “the most amazing experience I’ve had in the studio.”

“I got to work with Michael on a track that has not been released and it was the most amazing experience I’ve had in the studio. He was funny. Very funny and we laughed the whole time.”

A source does say that it’s an outtake of “Invincible”, and that it was remade in 2004 between Lenny Kravitz and Jay-Z. In any case it means a new song of Michael Jackson, which is a delight for his fans!

Journalist Ian Halperin predicted in December 2008 that Michael Jackson would be dead within six months. Exactly six months and one day later, Jackson died suddenly in Los Angeles. Fittingly, the book Halperin was in the process of revising, retitled ‘Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson,’ is out today.

In it, the Canadian author and filmmaker documents the singer’s struggles with charges of child molestation, the author’s assertion that the Church of Scientology was behind Jackson’s brief marriage to Lisa Marie Presley, and Halperin’s own encounter with his subject while working undercover as a hairdresser.

Kim Kardashian took to her blog this morning to talk about Michael Jackson’s Memorial which she attended with her family. She described it as the most touching memorial she had ever been to and found the performances of Mariah Carey, Usher, and Jennifer Hudson to be the most special and heartfelt.

On her blog, she writes:

The Michael Jackson memorial was the most touching memorial I have ever been to. People from all over the world flew in to witness such a musical icon be laid to rest. It was emotional from the start! The Jackson brothers carried Michael out all wearing one rhinestone glove. Every appearance was so special and heartfelt, from Mariah Carey, to Usher to Jennifer Hudson. You could tell that every performer had a hard time holding back tears.

I think the entire Staples Center started crying when Michael’s daughter Paris spoke on stage. She really wanted to say some words about her father and I think it was very courageous and brave for an 11 year old to speak in front of so many people. I watched it again on TV when I got home, but there was nothing like the energy in that room. There was laughter and tears and every emotion. You could literally feel the love. Everyone was united in the same room for the same reason, to celebrate Michael’s life and achievements. I’ll never forget it.

Michael will be missed but will live on forever!

The stars came out for the three-day New Orleans, Louisiana event and each artist used their set to pay their respects to Jackson, who died on 25 June (09).

The festival kicked off on Friday (03Jul09) with a brass band providing the soundtrack to a Jackson video montage, with images and footage of the superstar from his Jackson 5 days through to his pop heyday lighting up the screens at the Louisiana Superdrome.

According to a celebrity gossip magazine, Us Weekly, Michael Jackson was set to perform a duet with son Prince, 12, during his upcoming sold-out London concerts.

Stuart Backerman tells to the magazine, “He wanted his kids to see him perform at least once to get the vibe of the Michael Jackson mania.”

Ashley Tisdale told MTV News that Jackson was a big influence on her music and the work of her “HSM” castmates.

“I’ve loved Michael Jackson, his music, his music videos,” Tisdale said. “I mean, the man made music videos what they are today. So, I’ve always been inspired by him. I think he’s such a great dancer.

“It was definitely a shock,” she added of Jackson’s sudden passing. “It’s really hard when a celebrity dies out of nowhere, ’cause it’s very shocking … surreal.”

Tisdale was looking forward to seeing what Ortega and Jackson would be debuting on July 13, when Jackson was scheduled to kick off his This Is It tour. She said she and her “HSM” buddies were going to make the trek overseas to see it for themselves.

“We were all gonna go see him in London and go visit and watch the show,” she said, adding that the show would have also included dancers from the “HSM” movies. “We had a lot of our dancers in the production as well. I know they’re going through as really hard time as well. Hopefully, he’s in a better place now.”

Hayden Panettiere grew up on the King of Pop’s music and was so excited when she thought she may meet him at a party.

“The Heroes schedule is grueling. Twelve to 14 hours a day straight,” she says. “There is no sitting down, for sometimes six or seven days a week.

“The only reason I missed meeting Michael Jackson is because on Halloween when I was supposed to go to a party that he was at, they had us working from 3pm to 7am and I missed Michael Jackson. I am so upset because I am a huge fan.”

Michael Jackson died Thursday (June 25) after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. He was 50.

Justin Timberlake writes in a statement,

“I can’t find the words right now to express how deeply sadden (sic) I am by Michael’s passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music, but of all music.
“He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him on stage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.”

2009 BET Awards has been wrapped, and it is revealed that Beyonce Knowles led its winners list with two nods. She received her first award in Best Female R&B Artist category, beating Keyshia Cole, Keri Hilson, Jennifer Hudson and Jazmine Sullivan.

With Michael Jackson’s death occurring just three days before Sunday’s BET Awards, the show was quickly overhauled to be a tribute to the legendary entertainer. And while most awards shows conclude with a rousing finale, this one concluded quietly, with a touching speech from Michael’s sister Janet and a soft, gospel-inflected performance of the Jackson 5′s 1970 hit “I’ll Be There” by Ne-Yo and show host Jamie Foxx.

While the evening began with New Edition romping through a stirring medley of the Jackson 5′s more upbeat hits, the gentle version of “I’ll Be There” made for a somber, dignified follow to Janet’s brief comments.

“To you, Michael is an icon, to us, Michael is family and he will forever live in all of our hearts,” she said. “On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much, thank you so much,” she said while tearing up.

Beyonce Knowles has joined the long list of celebrities paying tribute to Michael Jackson, who died on Thursday (25Jun09), according to ContactMusic.Com .

The R&B superstar insists the Thriller hitmaker will never be challenged as the King of Pop and June 25 will always be remembered as “a terrible day.”
She says, “The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music. He was magic. He was what we all strive to be. He will always be the King of Pop.
“For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honoured to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael.”
