Shameless actress Emmy Rossum revealed she will have nude scenes in season 2 of the hit Showtime series. In preparation for the scene, she shaved her legs, and she inadvertently taught her sister on the show, Emma Kenney, 12, who plays Debbie, how to shave.

Emmy Rossum is back for the second season of the R-rated Showtime series “Shameless.”

The season premiered on Sunday, Jan. 8 to much anticipation.

“Shameless” is based on the hit British series of the same name. The pilot costars William H. Macy, Joan Cusack and Justin Chatwin.

Rossum plays Fiona Gallagher-the eldest of the Gallagher kids. SHe has the most responsibility at her house.

On the upcoming season of “Shameless”:
“Summer is in full swing and the Gallagher family is up to their usual tricks. Fiona is working at a nightclub, the kids are running a daycare service for the neighborhood out of the living room, and Lip and Kev are selling pot off an ice cream truck. Fiona is nursing a bit of a broken heart after we see her decide to stay behind and not leave with Steve, so she’s definitely playing the field and acting out a bit. We see her moral compass a little altered and she’s actually acting a bit more like Frank, her father, than we’ve seen before.”

On how she’s able to be so versatile with her roles:
“I try to find the key into every character, sometimes it’s the way they walk or talk, sometimes it’s tapping into something inside of myself that’s very personal and clues me into what the character is feeling.”

On the musical icons/actors she admires:
“Dolly, Barbara, Ella…so many different singers. I love Tilda Swinton (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). She keeps surprising me with her choices.”

On her holiday celebration plans:
“I already have holiday music on my Pandora a week before Thanksgiving. I am going to visit my family on the east coast and maybe even pop by Joan Cusack’s house in Michigan as I’ve become a sort of a surrogate aunt to her two sons who are awesome! I’ve always wanted brothers and they make me laugh. I love her whole family.”

Rossum, who plays Fiona, the sexy yet mother-like eldest sister to a large, working class-at-best family, told Vegas Magazine that her love scenes with co-star Justin Chatwin are one of the best parts of the show.

“It doesn’t make sense that the character would wear a bra and care at all about what she looks like when she’s having sex,” Rossum told the magazine. “Sex is meant to feel good, and she wants to feel good. Her life is so shitty in so many ways. Some people use alcohol, some people use gambling–and some people use sex.”

“I think she’s a risk-taker, but she’s always about her own style, and I really, really admire that,” the actress, 22, says.

For Emmy, wearing silly socks emblazoned with Mickey Mouse or stitched with marbles gives her extra edge.
“I always think it’s surprising and exciting to have something under your boots that no one is ever going to see,” she says. “It’s like your own little secret.”

In the diet department, Emmy has her own strategy.
“I don’t eat wheat only because I’m gluten-intolerant, but otherwise I really try to stay away from things that are overly starchy or deep-fried. Otherwise, life is too short not to eat dessert, not to bread, not to eat rice and potatoes. I think if you exercise and are healthy, those kind of things – they’re not the devil.”

How does she stay toned?
“I like to dance a lot,” the NYC native says. “I was a ballerina when I was younger, so I’m back to ballet a little bit. I was kicked off, so I like to run, swim, hike – as long as I can do something that doesn’t get boring, I’ll do it.”

Any beauty tips?
“Moisturize before you put your makeup on, always. It’ll make you extra-glowy in the summertime.”

And diet tips?
“Never go hungry.”
