The singer, who had fought drug and alcohol problems for years, was found dead in bed at her London home on July 23 at age 27. An initial autopsy proved inconclusive, although it found no traces of illegal drugs in her system.

Dr. Joseph Feldman, chief of emergency services at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey said Winehouse likely developed a tolerance for large quantities of alcohol after drinking heavily for years. He also said the sedative Winehouse was on, Librium, wouldn’t have stopped someone from having seizures if they were in alcohol withdrawal.
“It’s easier to withdraw from heroin than it is from alcohol … Withdrawal (from alcohol) can cause anxiety, tremors, hallucinations, the sensation of things crawling all over you,” he said.

Not too many people may realize it, but some extreme drug withdrawal symptoms can prove to be dangerous and in some cases, fatal.

Pathologist Suhail Baithun told the inquest into the singer’s death that Winehouse had consumed a “very large quantity of alcohol” — the level in her blood put her more than five times over the legal drunk-driving limit.

The police have confirmed that this report had indeed been sent to the wrong address on Friday (21/10). Fortunately, this file is immediately handed over to the nearest police station by the recipient.

In a brief court appearance on Tuesday in London, Amy Winehouse reportedly pleaded not guilty to a charge that she assaulted a fan. Sherene Flash, a dancer, has said that Ms. Winehouse, the soul singer, hit her in the eye at a charity ball in Berkeley Square on Sept. 26 when Ms. Flash asked to take a picture of Ms. Winehouse. After her lawyer apologized for her late arrival, Ms. Winehouse appeared in the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where she confirmed her name and date of birth and entered her plea. A judge released her on bail and ordered her to return for a hearing on July 23.

Winehouse, 25, was dressed in a summery floral print, low-cut dress, which revealed her many tattoos and her bra strap, and four-inch pink stilettos. Asked at one point, as she fidgeted with her hair, if she was okay, she turned a security guard and said, “Me? I’m alright.”

Amy Winehouse was charged with assault Friday over an incident in central London last September, according to source.

“Amy Winehouse appears on bail at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday March 17 charged with common assault in connection with an incident at Berkeley Square on September 26, 2008,” said a Scotland Yard spokesman.

A spokesman for Winehouse said: “Amy voluntarily attended a police station in London yesterday morning. She was questioned by appointment in relation to an accusation made after the Berkeley Ball last year.

“She was charged with common assault and will attend a court hearing in the coming weeks.”

Poor Amy Winehouse, according to a report out of England on Monday, Grammy winner Amy Winehouse may have already done irreparable harm to her brain with her admitted drug use.

The British singer, who is notorious for flaunting her substance abuse to the media, has reported already suffered two overdoses in the past year and the possibility of a third one has doctors worried it will be her last.

“The future is bleak, bleak, bleak,” a friend of Amy is quoted as telling the UK’s Sun newspaper, adding that the “Rehab” songstress allegedly smoked so much marijuana and hashish during a recent 36-hour period that she went into convulsions.

This news comes on the heels of the more legal trouble for Amy, who could possibly be sued after failing to show up at a concert performance in Paris. She had been scheduled to headline the Rock En Seine festival on Friday, and according to the show’s promoters, they were notified only two hours before her slated start time that she would not perform.
