Los Angeles city firefighters responded to a medical call about 8 a.m. at the 8,000-square-foot home Murphy shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, in the hills above the Sunset Strip.
No cause of death has yet been determined, but according to coroner’s Capt. John Kades, “Foul play is not suspected at this time because there were no outward signs of trauma or other injuries.”
Murphy was “found unresponsive” in her home in the hills above West Hollywood on Sunday morning, Kades said. Paramedics transported her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m.
“We don’t have an autopsy scheduled yet, but we will do it as soon as possible,” Kades said. “Given all the worldwide attention, if we can get it done [Monday], we will.”
