
Halle Berry, winner of the best actress Oscar for “Monster’s Ball,” will be honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the 19th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in January.
Berry stars this year in “Things We Lost in the Fire.” Past films include the popular “X-Men” series, Spike Lee’s “Jungle Fever,” “Bulworth,” “Executive Decision,” Oprah Winfrey-produced “Their Eyes Were Watching God” and HBO’s “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.”
Berry will be honored at the Awards Gala Jan. 5. Among other honorees will be Sean Penn, Daniel Day-Lewis and John Travolta. The festival runs Jan. 3-14, featuring more than 230 films.
