Nelly Furtado won the “Best album of the year” awards

Avril Lavigne was named best solo artist at the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards, beating Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
Lavigne also scooped up the “most addictive track” prize with her song “Girlfriend,” while Nelly Furtado’s “Loose” was best album at today’s ceremony in Munich, Germany.
Linkin Park was top band and Muse the best live act. The winners were chosen by votes of more than 50 million viewers, except for a special “artist award,” selected by 80 stars, who chose singer Amy Winehouse.
