Natalie Portman has been cast as the female lead in “Thor,” Marvel Studios’ adaptation of its comic book featuring the Norse god of thunder. Kenneth Branagh is directing.
The Academy-award nominated actress will play the nurse, Jane Foster, who becomes Thor’s first love.
Filming is set to begin in early 2010 for a May 20, 2011 release , distributed by Paramount Pictures.
