Mena Suvari flew to Italy on Thursday to plan her 2010 wedding to Simone Sestito, after deciding her fiancé’s homeland is the perfect place to walk down the aisle, imdb.com reports.

Mena Suvari accepted the music producer/promoter’s proposal during a Jamaican vacation last summer. She admits she knew she wanted “a nice, big, traditional Italian wedding” as soon as Sestito whisked her off to Italy for a romantic break early on in their relationship.

“We want to marry in Italy. There is a lot of planning we want to do. We were there in August, and everything was closed in August, so we want to look at a lot of cathedrals and find a place,” Survari tells People.com.
