Lindsay Lohan is rumoured to be starring as Lovelace in forthcoming biopic Inferno.

The film will be directed by Matthew Wilder and produced by Chris Hanley, according to showbiz website Gossip Cop.

The news that Lohan has been cast is expected to be announced at next month’s Cannes Film Festival.

Producers of another movie entitled Lovelace and directed by Rob Epstein were forced to deny over the weekend that Lohan had been cast in their film.

Lovelace became famous after starring in the 1972 porn film Deep Throat.

She later denounced her pornography career and became a spokeswoman for the anti-pornography movement.
