Keira Knightley Finally Gets A Prize

Keira Knightley finally got the appreciation she deserves last night as she took home an award for best actress.
The 22-year-old missed out on a Bafta and an Oscar this year but scooped the title at the Elle Style Awards in London last night.

Keira was awarded for her role in war-drama Atonement, which won Best Film at the Baftas on Sunday.

But it wasn’t just Keira who spent the evening smiling, her co-star, James McAvoy, made up for his Bafta disappointment as he took home the best actor award.

Kylie Minogue added to her collection with the Woman of the Year title, presented to her by David Walliams hailing her triumphant comeback from breast cancer.

Accepting the honour, Kylie told the audience: “It’s amazing to be here. I’m not exactly sure what I’ve done to deserve this, because I get to do something that I love. This award will take pride of place in my apartment.”

The singer was moved to tears when her best friend and stylist, William Baker, received the H&M Style Visionary Award, which he dedicated to “courageous” Kylie.

US actress Kate Hudson took home the Elle Style Icon honour.

“I’m really honoured to be an American in your country and to accept this award because - let’s be honest - you guys have the best fashion,” she said.

The glamorous awards ceremony was held at the Westway in Notting Hill, west London and was attended by a dazzling crowd of A-listers.

Louise Redknapp, Alexa Chung, Kelly Brook, Kimberley Stewart, Pixes and Peaches Geldof, and Will Young were among the stars to grace the red carpet.
