Just days after joining the American Idols Live tour following her recovery from bronchitis and laryngitis, the second-place finisher is back on the disabled list after tripping backstage and fracturing her foot before a concert in North Carolina.

Despite the injury, McPhee took the stage in slippers to perform her two solo numbers. X-rays taken after the show revealed a hairline fracture in her left foot, her publicist at RCA Records said.

Though McPhee is “in discomfort,” according to the rep, she plans to continue on the tour, which wraps up Sept. 24 in Pennsylvania.

The aspiring singer already missed the first three weeks of the Idol trek after being put on total vocal rest by her doctor.

Her absence stirred up numerous speculations, including the theory that a reoccurrence of her bulimia had ruined her voice, or that she thought she was too good for Idol.

However, when McPhee was finally able to speak her mind during a July 27 stint as View cohost, she assured her fans that she had simply been following her doctor’s orders.
