John Mayer, who is the shirtless cover boy of the new Rolling Stone, is admitting that his breakup with Jennifer Aniston was a mistake.

“I’ve never really gotten over it,” he says in a candid and personal interview. “It was one of the worst times of my life.” He also says of the relationship: “I’m the (jerk). I burned the American flag. I basically murdered an ideal.”

On Twitter, Mayer writes: “Just read my Rolling Stone cover article. I’m still not sure if I would want to hang out with me.”
