John Mayer has apologized for using the N-word in a freewheeling Playboy interview in which also he revealed his addictions to porn and Jessica Simpson.
The “Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer tweeted his mea culpa on Twitter, saying he used the wrong word to explain why “black people love me.”
“I am sorry that I used the word,” the 32-year-old singer tweeted.
In the Playboy Q&A published online yesterday, Mayer said he was recently asked, “What does it feel like now to have a ‘hood pass?” He went on, “It’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a ‘hood pass, you could call it a n—-r pass.”
Mayer might have to apologize to his ex-girlfriends, too.
He said Simpson was “like sexual napalm,” and he would have paid her $10,000 to have sex with him.
