Academy Award-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal will receive the 2006 Young Artist Award for Artistic Excellence from the Americans for the Arts at the organization’s annual National Arts Awards on Oct. 16 in New York City. The award will be presented by Robert Downey, Jr.
In addition to his 2006 Oscar nod for best supporting actor in Brokeback Mountain, Gyllenhaal garnered a BAFTA Award and nominations for an Independent Spirit Award and a SAG Award.
