“The Dark Knight” premiered Monday night in New York, and Heath Ledger’s parents and family were there to see the results.

Heath Ledger’s father put his thumb up when asked what he thought of his son’s final film, The Dark Knight.

“It’s very good,” said Kim Ledger, accompanied by wife Ines. Ledger’s mother, Sally Bell, and older sister Kate Ledger also attended.

Heath Ledger’s sinister interpretation of the Joker in The Dark Knight — the follow-up to the hugely popular Batman Begins — is winning rave reviews, and has put him in the running for a posthumous Academy Award.
