Halle Berry’s hand-embroidered Elie Saab design received over 25% of the votes, beating competition from Keira Knightley’s 2006 Vera Wang creation and the Galliano gown worn by Heidi Klum in 2008.
Voters were also keen to acknowledge worst dressed A-listers and 20 per cent decided Lizzy Gardiner should take the Oscars style disaster gong for her 1995 dress, which was made from gold Amex cards.
Bjork’s memorable 2001 ‘swan dress’ came a close second while Whoopi Goldberg’s green and purple trousers and cape ensemble from the same year took the bronze medal.
