Gwyneth Paltrow’s hardly the only celebrity to try to leverage her fame into some kind of online media entity – she has a long way to go before she catches up with the two leaders in that field, Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey – but Gwyneth Paltrow may be the first to try to move directly from acting to lifestyle advice, with the launch of a site she is calling Goop.
At the moment, all there is on the site is a link to sign up for a newsletter and a menu of items including “See,” “Make,” “Go” and “Be,” along with a somewhat cryptically worded motto: “Nourish the inner aspect.” When you click on any of the symbols, you get a personal note from the actress, in which she talks about how her life is good because “I am not passive about it,” and how she wants to “nourish what is real.” She also says she loves to be in “spaces that are clean and feel nice.”
In Italy for Milan Fashion Week, Gwyneth wowed first in a vivid orange ruffled and pleated dress, which she wore for a visit to Tod’s concept store with designer Diego Dello Valle. She paired the vibrant, zesty frock with peep-toed, patent shoe-boots and a patent black bag.
After dark, Gwyneth changed into a silk shift minidress, in a softer shade of orange, for the screening of Pashmy Dream and a private dinner at Tod’s.
