The actress is reportedly being treated at Utah’s Cirque Lodge rehab clinic for an undisclosed addiction, after deciding herself she needed “professional support”.
Her spokesman said: “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much needed time off to attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support.”
At the Cannes Film Festival last May, Eva admitted she needed alcohol to feel comfortable while filming a sex scene with co-star Joaquin Phoenix for ‘We Own the Night’.
She said: “I wasn’t comfortable at all, but Joaquin and the director James Gray were very sweet and they poured me a vodka and orange juice and then I was fine.
“I’m very professional and I don’t usually drink on the job but that morning I had to have something.”
The 33-year-old actress is not the first high-profile name to check into the Cirque Lodge clinic.
Last year, ‘Mean Girls’ star Lindsay Lohan spent two months in the facility battling drug and alcohol addiction.
Eva has had a hectic schedule of late.
She recently completed upcoming movies ‘The Spirit’, alongside Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, and ‘The Women’, which features Meg Ryan and Jada Pinkett Smith.
