Christina Applegate, Anne Hathaway and Sigourney Weaver are to be honoured for their charity work at Variety magazine’s Power of Women luncheon.

The event, which will take place at Los Angeles’ Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on 24 September (09), will also fete actresses January Jones and Mario Bello, Christina Aguilera, film producer Laura Ziskin and movie mogul Sherry Lansing.

The ladies have been selected as the industry publication’s Lifetime Impact Honorees for making a significant difference to their chosen causes.

Christina Aguilera will be honoured for her work on behalf of World Hunger Relief, Applegate for Right Action for Women, Hathaway for Service Nation and Weaver for The Flea Theater.

Ziskin and Lansing will both be honoured on behalf of their organisation, Stand Up 2 Cancer.
