Oscar winning star Charlize Theron blasted celebrities who constantly court media attention and grab Tabloid limelight, branding their attitude “ugly”.
The stunning actress whose beauty has never diminished her acting power reportedly sees through fame-obsessed stars, calling it “sick” and insisting she finds it “sad” to see people work at being daily
paparazzi fodder.
Charlize Theron tells Britain’s GQ magazine, “It comes across as this really sad need for approval. I’ve heard people make comments like, ‘You don’t really want to be in the tabloids but you need to be for your career’. They believe it’s actually important. It’s not. It’s ugly.”
The intriguing star angrily refutes suggestions that actors should seek, let alone welcome, the tabloid attention - insisting it isn’t her job to provide stories for celebrity publications.
Come to think of it, it’s a serious case of mislabeling to mistake tabloid attention as measure of “popularity”. The Mr. and Mrs. Hype use cunning and a knack for media journalism to creates the spin and mystery. The formula seems pretty easy. After all, if Paris Hilton
can do it…?
The intriguing star added, “People say, ‘That’s your job.’ It really isn’t, actually. It’s not my job to go out there and make an ass out of myself.”
Theron also hits out at stars who spread their personal lives over the pages of glossy magazines, forcing themselves on the public.
She growls, “Like, your life belongs to us now? That’s the deal? I didn’t get that memo. It wasn’t sent to me and I didn’t sign it. So, f**k you.”
And really, do we really want to worship the posers baiting our attention with laked info about their personal lives? Maybe it’s time to distinguish between real stars who can shine on their own and those
who smirk behind the scenes leaking their own tabloid buzz wasting our day.
Tim to spot that “Worship Me” pose and remember, a real shining star makes the people feel good. Isn’t that what stars are supposed to do? Shine for us not at us!
