Vanessa Hudgens has sparked further speculation she is engaged to Zac Efron, after reportedly revealing the couple is debating a date for their nuptials.
The High School Musical co-stars, who have been dating since 2005, have long been dogged with rumors they are set to walk down the aisle.

Earlier this year (Feb09), Efron was forced to deny reports they were planning their wedding after the National Enquirer claimed he proposed to Hudgens during a promotional trip to Japan in January (09).
But the actress has hinted the pair is set to seal their union – when they can co-ordinate their busy work schedules.
She tells Britain’s News Of The World newspaper, “We haven’t set a date and if we did we’d keep it secret for as long as possible.

“Why? What if one of us was offered a major film part? Then we’d have to postpone our marriage and people would say we’d split up. And we don’t want that.”

The “High School Musical” alum is in the middle of another photo scandal as new images showing the actress proactively posing topless have hit the Web.

In September 2007, the “High School Musical” starlet hit headlines when pictures of her posing naked hit the internet. Despite speculation that she would be dumped by Disney, Hudgens publicly apologized for the “embarrassing” photos and Disney responded that they hoped she had “learned a valuable lesson.”

Vanessa Hudgens is all set to drop her layers for an upcoming movie Sucker Punch. The 20-year-old will play the role of a foul-mouthed prostitute in the film that is scheduled to hit the theatres in 2011.

“I’m playing a character named Blondie and it’s set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there’s not a whole lot of clothes,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

The star also revealed that she was excited to begin training for what would be her first action role.

She said: “It’ll be gun training, stunts, fighting and all that craziness. I can’t wait. I’m so excited. I’ve wanted to do an action film for a while. I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up. It will be somewhat different with the content and a few more foul words but that”s the biggest difference.”

Hudgens, 20, was apparently furious after Efron said he didn’t want to get married until he is 40 so she decided to make him jealous by seeing other people.

“When Vanessa heard about Zac’s plan to stay single for the next couple of decades she was shocked and shattered,” a source told the National Enquirer magazine. “She’d secretly hoped for an engagement ring within the next year or two!

“Zac’s totally upset — he doesn’t want Vanessa dating anyone else. Even though he’s not ready to commit himself to settling down at this stage of his young life, the thought of Vanessa in another man’s arms drives him crazy.”

Aahh…poor Zac Efron.

Looks like Vanessa Hudgens may have another shaggy-haired hottie in her life.

E! Online reports that Burberry spokesman Alex Pettyfer is in talks to join Vanessa Hudgens in Beastly.

Pettyfer is a child model turned actor, whose credits include playing teen spy Alex Rider in Stormbreaker and acting in Wild Child opposite Emma Roberts. He most recently appeared in an ad campaign for U.K. luxury fashion house Burberry.

Beastly is expected to shoot this summer. Vanessa Hudgens will then film director Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch.

The 21-year-old-star, Zac Efron insists he would never have sex with anyone he wasn’t in love with – but admits his attitude may change in future.

Zac Efron said:

“That’s what my parents told me, it’s what I believe and what I was brought up to believe. “I think everyone thinks that at some point – it’s just how soon you change your own opinions.” Zac recently admitted his mother Starla was upset when she saw a photograph of him and Vanessa apparently leaving a sex toy shop. He explained: “My mom is like, ‘Zac, what did you buy in a sex shop?’ I was like, ‘Mom, calm down, it’s not a sex shop.’ She wouldn’t have any of it. “She’s like, ‘I knew you were being sexual!’ But she understood. My stocking was full of condoms this Christmas. She buys me the economy box.”

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens was named Favourite Female Movie Star and thanked her little sister Stella for “for asking all her friends at school to vote”.

High School Musical 3 also won the gong for Favourite Movie, with Vanessa’s real life beau and co-star Zac Efron paying tribute to the film’s fans while accepting the award.

“Lately, a lot of people have been taking credit for bringing back the musical,” Zac said. “The truth is we’ve known who’s been responsible for bringing back the musical all along. It was you guys!”

The 20-year-old High School Musical actress – Vanessa Hudgens – most likely won’t be sinking her teeth into the Twilight sequel, New Moon.

Despite earlier reports that Hudgens had auditioned for the role of werewolf Leah Clearwater, the screenwriter for both flicks says that it’s extremely unlikely.

“I’m not sure about [final] casting but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah,” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told People magazine at Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. “But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn’t happen until the third movie.”

Vanessa Hudgens is well on her way to the best week ever. Not only did “High School Musical 3? kick serious ass at the box office (it took in more than $42 million, a record for a big screen musical), she and hottie boyfriend Zac Efron spent the weekend in Hawaii for the wedding of one of Zac’s relatives.

Vanessa Hudgens, who was home-schooled, said in a recent interview that starring in the Disney movie series let her experience the rites of passage she missed.

“I got to experience my prom, I got to wear a cap and gown for the very first time, graduate with people who I really love, the cast. So it’s been a lot of fun,” said Hudgens. She’s also getting the experience of what it’s like to be prom queen and date the quarterback (although Zac looks more like the captain of the wrestling team. He can put me in any kind of hold he likes).
