Moulin Rouge actress and the Academy winning actress who had separated from Cruise in 2001 after a ten-year-long marriage said that during their relationship she felt it was her job to “be seen and not heard”.

“I felt I became a star only by association. We would go to the Oscars and I would think, ‘I’m here to support him’. I felt it was my job to put on a beautiful dress and be seen and not heard,” said the 41-year-old during an interview with Easy Living magazine.

Katie may never admit it, but sources say her superstar husband may be contributing to the debilitating headaches. His high energy is often hard to keep up with — and that, paired with her intense need to live up to his expectations, is really taking its toll, both mentally and physically.

“Katie doesn’t get enough sleep — and hasn’t for months now,” says one insider. “She’s tired and drained much of the day because Tom is so wired, and they stay awake until after midnight. He has boundless energy, and she just can’t compete.”

To complicate matters even further, while Tom goes off for days at a time (“His rule is ‘You can be with me, but don’t ask about it,’” says a source), Katie is overseeing the interior design of their lavish $35 million Beverly Hills mansion. “To him, the home is a status symbol,” says a source, “so it’s on Katie’s shoulders to pull off something beyond magnificent, something Tom can brag about. She’s giving herself headaches thinking about it and making herself sick.

“This is a fair, evenhanded treatment of Tom Cruise’s life,” Morton said Tuesday on NBC’s “Today” show. “He’s a man who deserves attention.”

The church responded with a 15-page statement, calling the book “a bigoted, defamatory assault replete with lies” and saying Cruise “is a Scientology parishioner and holds no official or unofficial position in the Church hierarchy.”

The couple – who have a 20-month-old biological daughter Suri along with Tom’s adopted children, Connor, 12, and 14-year-old Isabella, with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman – are trying for a baby with no success and now allegedly plan to seek medical advice.

A source said: “Katie is so upset. They both really want another child but it just doesn’t seem to be happening. She says they have been trying since last summer. Tom and Katie have decided to go and see a specialist.”

Tom, 45, is reportedly desperate for another son so the couple are planning to visit Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center later this month for a consultation, according to Britain’s Now magazine.

Last year, 29-year-old Katie revealed she couldn’t wait to fall pregnant again.

The ‘Batman Begins’ actress said: “Yes I definitely want more children. We’re having the best time, it’s so amazing. We have so many kids in our house, there’s always this wonderful chatter and this great noise of kids. Tom is a great father so it came as no shock when we had Suri he was amazing with the baby.”

Katie Holmes has revealed that Tom Cruise and his ex-wife Nicole Kidman’s two adopted children call her ‘mum’, and address Kidman as ‘Nicole’.

Holmes, who has a daughter with husband Cruise, claimed that adopted children Isabelle and Connor treat her like she is their mother.

She told Parade: “[Tom’s] first two children are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me ‘mum.’ So Tom understands the female bond, and he loves it.”

But Nicole has recently revealed that her adopted children do not call her ‘mum’. Last month Kidman told GMTV: “My kids don’t call me mummy, they don’t even call me mum. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it.”

Celine is said to have been thrilled yet anxious to have the Hollywood stars in the audience.

The card is being sent out on behalf of husband Tom Cruise, 45, their daughter Suri and Cruise’s adopted children, Bella and Connor, a source says.

Interestingly, Holmes, 28, signed the cards “Kate,” which is how Cruise often refers to her.

Katie Holmes is also playing Santa this year: “Katie has kept her staff busy doing the shopping, and even had a different gift-wrap design for different categories: family, friends, business associates,” says the source.

The clan, adds the insider, will spend Christmas in Telluride, Colorado.

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri were treated to a private performance by the Spice Girls last weekend.

The Cruise family stopped by the girls’ Los Angeles rehearsal rooms and watched an exclusive impromptu performance by close friend Victoria Beckham and her bandmates.

Tom and Katie’s 19-month-old Suri danced around as the band belted out a selection of their greatest hits.

Following the surprise visit, Victoria – who is married to England soccer star David Beckham – said: “David and I are great friends with Tom and Katie. It was lovely of them to come down to rehearsals, a really nice surprise.

“Katie has told me before that she used to be a huge Spice Girls fan, so it was great for her to meet the other girls.”

Meanwhile, pictures of the girls’ nickname-themed dressing rooms have been posted on their official website.

‘Scary Spice’ Mel B’s room is decked out in her trademark leopard print, while ‘Sporty’ Mel C’s personal space comes complete with an iPod sound system for her to practice her signature back flips.

Nicole Kidman said she lost her self-identity during her nearly 10-year marriage to Tom Cruise because of the couple’s constant traveling.

“Tom and I, we moved and moved and moved. Your sense of where do I come from becomes less and less relevant,” said Kidman, 40, who split from Cruise, 45, in 2001 and shares custody of their adopted children Isabella, 14, and Connor, 12.

“A lot of my life, particularly when I was working so much, it was about trying to fill in the gaps,” she added. “Now there’s much more reason to exist in the world without my identity needing to be through work.”

She said her life is finally making sense again.

“I have a new niece, I have a new marriage, we just bought an acreage in Tennessee, which we’re really happy to build a house on and spend some time doing that,” she said. “I’m just not willing to give up my life with my man anymore.”
