When Spice Girl Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown and husband Stephen Belafonte made the decision to be wed in a secret Las Vegas ceremony in June 2007, it meant that several of their close friends and family weren’t on hand for the blessed event.

So now the couple is making up for it — They renewed their wedding vows over the weekend and flew their closest family and friends to Hurghada, Egypt, for the ceremony.

Mel and Stephen reaffirmed their commitment to each other at the exclusive Jaz Makadi Golf Hotel in Madinat Makadi, in front of guests including Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, and UK TV personalities Denise Van Outen and Fearne Cotton.

Missing from the ceremony were Mel’s fellow Spice Girls — Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and pregnant Melanie C — who she explains weren’t invited to the ceremony in order to keep it a low-key event.

“We decided to do it for the kids and we only want it to be a real intimate affair with the 10 closest people in our lives,” she explained.

The former Spice Girls star – who has a luxury home in Egypt – will also host a lavish wedding blessing party today, treating guests to a picturesque Red Sea cruise.

Mel and Stephen were seen soaking up the sun shortly before their renewal ceremony yesterday.

The 32-year-old singer is recuperating from the grueling tour and her child support battle with comedian Eddie Murphy by lounging by a pool in the Florida city, the Daily Mail reported Saturday.

Brown and Murphy have an 11-month-old daughter, Angel, but the “Norbit” star reportedly has said he does not want to have any contact with the child.

The comedian even accused Brown of trapping him into having the child, according to recent reports.

An unidentified source said the relationship, which the British newspaper said ended in 2006, was initially intended to only be a temporary courtship, but became much more for both parties.

“What was supposed to be a casual relationship ended with her having his baby and taking him to court for millions,” the source said.

The 32-year-old made her debut on the hit show earlier this week, scoring 24 out of 30 to finish in second place.

But she said dancing for the judges is more stressful than performing in front of her bandmates because her mistakes have serious repercussions.

She said: “If I messed up with the Spice Girls, I’d just turn round to Victoria or Geri and we’d laugh. Here you get points deducted and are kicked off.”

According to reports, Mel’s husband Stephen Belafonte is furious about the amount of time she spends rehearsing with dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who she has described as “sexy as hell”.

They plan to sing songs from each of their albums, including the third, 2000′s ‘Forever,’ on which Geri doesn’t appear (she left the group in 1998). But she said that won’t stop her; Mel B plans to let Geri sing some of her lines. The Girls do, however, have a few songs they’re most looking forward to performing. Among them, ‘Wannabe’ (Mel B’s pick), ‘Too Much’ (Victoria’s) — but Mel C couldn’t decide on one. “We’ve got so many great songs,” she said.

When asked what the shows would be like, the whip-smart Geri deadpanned, “There will be five girls, music, lights and topless dancers.”

“Are you going to be doing that?” Mel B shot back.

“We want it to be spectacular,” Mel C said.

The results of the DNA test, which Murphy took on June 11, were received by Brown on Thursday afternoon, says rep Liza Anderson.

“He’s the baby’s father, it’s official,” says a source close to Brown. “The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his.”

Of Brown, the source said, “There was no doubt in people’s minds anyways, least of all hers. It wasn’t a surprise to her. She knew all along.”

Murphy’s rep declined to comment.

Melanie, who had spent a while deciding on the baby’s name, said it was inspired by a number of things. Angel, as she was my little angel through my pregnancy; Iris, as it’s my Grandma’s name, Murphy because he’s the dad and Brown, because I’m the Mum!
