He’s astonishing in ‘The Dark Knight.’ He’s mind-blowing. I’ve rarely seen anything like it, anything so free. Being around him, acting with him, was so much fun; when someone is that free, it rubs off on everyone. The producers of the Batman sequel “The Dark Knight” have announced that Katie Holmes will be replaced by 30-year-old Maggie Gyllenhaal. Holmes left the project in January to focus on an independent film.
Gyllenhaal will play Batman’s love interest Rachel Dawes, a Gotham District Attorney. Christian Bale will be returning as Batman for the sequel, following his success in the role for “Batman Begins”.
