Kate Winslet has topped a new poll to find out the ultimate natural beauty.

The Oscar winning sensation beat Breakfast At Tiffany’s star, and one of the world’s most beautiful women, Audrey Hepburn into second place.

According to The Sun, The Revolutionary Road actress was hailed for having “a classic English rose complexion without needing lots of make-up to look stunning”.

Cheryl Cole, Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson also appeared on the list, which was voted for by 3,000 men and women.

Earlier this year, Playboy boss Hugh Hefner said that he would like to feature Winslet as a centrefold model in the magazine.

The Reader is based on the best-selling post-WWII novel by German author Bernhard Schlink, in which a young man obsessed with an older woman is forced to face the awful truth at a war crimes trial.

2009 is surely turning into an eventful year for Kate Winslet. After winning an Oscar, her first after six nominations, two Golden Globes, and a Bafta, the British actress has been offered a spot on the cover of Playboy magazine.

Magazine mogul Hugh Hefner had revealed he would love to have the The Reader star join previous posers including Marilyn Monroe, Sharon Stone, Pamela Anderson and Charlize Theron.

Hefner told a newspaper: “There’s no question we would be interested in Kate. It’s a competitive market, more than it used to be, so she would be a most welcome addition in our pages,” reports The Sun.

Winslet has in the past appeared stark naked in many of her movies, including The Reader, for which she won the Best Actress Oscar. But she has previously sworn not to repeat her clothes-dropping act in future for fear of being typecast.

“This is not a proposal that would interest her,” Contactmusic quoted her spokesperson as saying.

Kate Winslet pulled off the expected Sunday night, winning the Academy Award for best actress for her quietly powerful performance in “The Reader.”

Winslet was giddy and emotional as she accepted her trophy.

“I’d be lying if I haven’t made a version of this speech before,” she said. “I think I was probably 8 years old and staring into the bathroom mirror and this (Oscar) would be a shampoo bottle. But it’s not a shampoo bottle now.”

This is the first Oscar for Winslet, who’s been nominated five other times for her roles in “Titanic,” “Sense and Sensibility,” “Iris,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Little Children.”

The best-actress category was loaded with strong contenders: Meryl Streep was another front-runner with her 15th acting nomination as a prickly nun in “Doubt.” Anne Hathaway played against her wholesome image as a toxic narcissist who leaves rehab to wreak havoc on her sister’s wedding in “Rachel Getting Married.” Angelina Jolie dug deep to portray a mother of a missing child in “Changeling.” And Melissa Leo was powerful as mom who forges an unlikely friendship in “Frozen River.”

But those days may be over

“I think I won’t do it again: a) I can’t keep getting away with it, and b) I don’t want to become ‘that actress who always gets her kit off,’” Kate Winslet told Time magazine

Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz have struck up a surprisingly close friendship in the run-up to this year’s (09) Oscars – despite only having met three times. The unlikely pair, who are both competing for this year’s (09) Best Supporting Actress gong, have been offering each other phone support daily in the countdown to the prestigious show.

And Cruz insists she and Winslet enjoy a far-from-bitter relationship, contrary to reports.
She says, “Kate and I have become very close even though we have only met three times. Everyone likes to think there’s rivalry between us but that’s not true.”

Penelope Cruz is nominated for her part in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Winslet received the nod for her role in The Reader.
The Academy Awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on 22 February (09).

Kate Winslet has revealed she had to walk home from work after she found out she’d got her big break.

The Little Children star was working in a sandwich shop when she found out she’d been cast in Peter Jackson’s Heavenly Creatures in 1994.

Kate Winslet told Parade magazine recently: “I made sandwiches. I cut up cheese. I ground coffee. I loved it there.

“Somebody else had to finish making this poor guy’s sandwich, because I was hysterical. Then I had to walk home, because I had forgotten to collect my wages before I left, and I had no bus fare.”

Kate received critical acclaim for the film and has been nominated for acting Academy Awards on five separate occasions since then.

Kate Winslet has replaced Nicole Kidman in the post-war drama The Reader. The latter has pulled out of the role opposite Ralph Fiennes because she is pregnant.

Shooting has already begun in Berlin but Kidman has not yet filmed any scenes, ananova.com reports. The movie is about a teenager who falls for an older woman.

Kate Winslet had been first choice for the role but had previously turned it down because it clashed with another project.

The British actress has sketched a portrait of her curvy behind for the upcoming Paint4Poverty charity auction.

Potential bidders can view and make an offer for Winslet’s pencilled posterior at website www.paint4poverty.com. The highest bid currently stands at £450.

The ‘Little Children’ actress is one of 60 celebrities to donate a drawing or painting to the event, which takes place later this month.

Other stars include jazz musician Jamie Callum, Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant and British TV presenter Chris Tarrant.

Online bidding will end on October 11 at 5pm (GMT), and the artwork will then be auctioned at Bath’s Guildhall, in England, on October 13.

All web bids will be listed with the auctioneer and included in the final sale.
