The English version of the song, She Wolf, moved up to the 12th spot of the Billboard Hot 100, allowing Mariah Carey’s new single, Obsessed, to pass and occupy the 11th position of the chart.

The singles are Shakira’s first in four years. Her new album is expected to be released later this year.

Shakira has revealed how she keeps her career on track — by undergoing regular therapy sessions.

The Whenever, Wherever hitmaker says she became more focused after she started seeing a counselor who has helped her deal with all the issues troubling her.

“I like having a person who helps me analyze myself,” Shakira tells Latina magazine. “I recommend it to every person I know. I have a lot of friends that go to therapy now, and their lives have changed in such positive ways.

“When I want to know the answer to all these questions — What do I want? Who am I? Why am I still doing this? — I go to my analyst.”

Shakira reportedly took History of Western Civilisation course at the University of California, Los Angeles. “I went to university after my last tour and studied history. I lived the regular student life for a bit. I used to wear a cap, tennis shoes, big backpack, baggy pants. I looked like a boy. I tried to hide and concentrate on my classes. It was one of those things that had passed me by.” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

The singer said that she lived as a student for a while and apparently nobody recognized her. She said: “I went to university after my last tour and studied history. I lived the regular student life for a bit.

“It was one of those things that had passed me by.”

The ‘ Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker added that she often wished for normal life.

She said: “I would have liked a normal career and to have experienced normal student life – but I’m not complaining.”

The Latin pop star is looking to do a duet with Twilight’s Robert Pattinson.

Shakira was introduced to Twilight by a label executive who thought the Twilight themes were similar to the themes she was using for her new album, She Wolf.

“The president of my label said, ‘Have you checked out Twilight? It’s about wolves and vampires and things.’ And I’m like, ‘Ah, that’s up my alley. I mean, where is it?’ And I watched it and loved it.”

Pop star Shakira is certain her fiance Antonio de la Rua – the son of Argentina’s former president Fernando de La Rua – is the “right person” to start a family with, and is planning to start trying for a baby as soon as possible.

The 32-year-old star said: “I constantly think about raising a family. I want to reproduce so bad! Antonio and I have been together for nine years and function as a married couple even though we’re not married.

“I don’t think you find the right person in your life more than once. I don’t even think about how famous he is. We look at each other as a man and a woman and that’s it. We try to live a normal life and I keep my family close to me so I still feel like a real person.”

However, the stunner insists that she needs to find time off from her future projects before she gets pregnant.

She added: “I can’t bring a little wolf right now to the world in the middle of so many projects. Maybe next year after the tour, who knows?” The Columbian star has been dating Antonio for the past nine years.

PT. She has recorded its Spanish version titled “Loba”, and will drop both songs for digital purchase on July 14.
