Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley admits she has lost touch with Sienna Miller since they filmed ‘The Edge Of Love’.
Keira, who played Vera Phillips in the Dylan Thomas biopic, revealed the pair have drifted apart, despite enjoying a close friendship on set.
She said: “I love Sienna, I think she’s a wonderful actress, but we’ve been like two passing ships in the night recently.
“I think that’s lovely but also sad about acting. You get incredibly close to people and as soon as it’s over you don’t see each other.
“I don’t think I’m very good at figuring out female friendships. I think they’re quite tricky to navigate.”

The wig Keira Knightley donned in new movie The Duchess was so heavy, according to contact music she needed a special headrest to support her neck.
The 23-year-old plays an aristocrat in the forthcoming 18th-century drama and had to wear a heavy wig as part of her elaborate period costume.
And the hairpiece was so massive, the film crew created a custom resting post to take the weight off the slender star’s shoulders.
Knightley’s co-star Hayley Atwell recalls, “I loved filming The Duchess - Keira has a great sense of humour. She had to wear this huge wig that was so heavy they made her a board that she could lean her shoulders and head against in between takes so she didn’t topple over or get neck aches.”

New “The Duchess” poster. One of Keira Knightley’s many period pieces has come out recently.

Keira Knightley had to sing in ‘The Edge of Love’, in which she plays Vera Philips the lover of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and admits she found it incredibly tough.
Keira Knightley said: “I did some lessons with a voice coach because I can’t sing. It was live. There were 100 extras and the director John Maybury was like, ‘Now you’re going to sing.’
“I’ve never been so frightened in my entire life. I never want to do it again. I don’t want to be a rock star. “
In the film - which also stars Sienna Miller, Cillian Murphy and Matthew Rhys - Keira sings ‘Blue Tahitian Moon’, as well as renditions of ‘Maybe It’s Because I Love You Too Much’ and ‘Drifting And Dreaming’.
‘The Edge of Love’, which was written by Keira’s mother Sharman Macdonald, is set during World War II and is due for release on June 28.
Keira Knightley has recorded three songs for her new film The Edge Of Love.
It’s the first time the British actress has used her singing voice for a movie soundtrack- she’s previously admitted it’s not her strong point.
Keira Knightley said: “I can’t really sing I had to have a few lessons, but once I started doing it, a sound emerged that wasn’t too disagreeable.â€
The Edge Of Love is written by Knightley’s mother and is the story of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. It also stars Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphy.

The movie is set for release in Autumn 2008. It looks unlikely Keira will launch a pop career alongside her film work- though we would love to see it!
