The Lizzie Maguire star admits she found it difficult to relate to fans of the sport when she first began dating Ottawa Senators idol Comrie in 2007.

But Duff is now hooked on the sport – and insists she is not afraid to stand up for her boyfriend when he comes in for abuse from fans.

She tells Us weekly, “I like to sit in the audience, you know I don’t sit up in a box or anything, and people started to know that I’m sitting there, and they’ll be like ‘Mike sucks!’ Or (they) try to rile me up. And I’m like, ‘Hey, watch it! I’ll come up there, you know.’ I try to not be that crazy girlfriend.
“The first couple of games I went to, I’m like, ‘These people are nuts,’ They are, like, so into it. And then, I got really into it once I started learning about the game.”

Hilary Duff releases a Phillip Andelman-directed music video aimed to promote her new single “Reach Out”. On the The Prophet-featuring video, Duff is seen flirting with a man, hugging him in a tight grip, and sucking his thumb.

“Reach Out” is a dance-pop song which is produced by Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and co-written by Tedder, Evan Bogart and Mika Guillory. The song, which samples Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus”, will appear on her compilation album, “Best of Hilary Duff”.

Due to be dropped on November 4 in the U.S. stores, Duff’s greatest hits album includes her massive hits, such as “Come Clean” and “So Yesterday”. In addition, the album also adds another new material entitled “Holiday”.

Hilary Duff has sparked rumours she’s taking her relationship with hockey star Mike Comrie to the next level, after she was snapped wearing a ring on her wedding finger.
The 20-year-old star was spotted leaving Hollywood’s Il Sole restaurant with National Hockey League (NHL) star Comrie on Friday night when she flashed her left hand to reveal a ring.

And the shot has sent gossips into a spin – leading many to speculate over whether Duff and Comrie are engaged.

The couple has been dating for more than a year following Duff’s split from Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden.

When the singer shoots a clip for “Beat of My Heart” in Los Angeles with director Phil Harder next week, she’s going to pay tribute to all the girls James Bond’s loved before, according to MTV.Com

“She’s always been a huge James Bond fan,” label rep Tina Dunn said. “She watched those movies with her sister growing up, and she loved the Bond girls, because they were always so stylish, and she’s stylish. So the concept is that this video has that hip sensibility of those Bond movies, and she’s looking more mature.”

The opening sequence of the video emulates the classic title sequences of Bond films from the silhouetted 1960s to present-day, high-tech 3-D designs, until one of those graphics becomes a wire frame of a beating electronic heart, like a graphic X-ray, which pulls out with each beat. As the camera pulls out, the heart grows and weaves to become Hilary.

While Hilary won’t quite take on Pussy Galore, Plenty O’Toole, Holly Goodhead, or any of the other delicious double-entendre-dubbed heroines of the Bond canon, she becomes a Bond girl in spirit, shifting from era to era with different looks, her hair blowing all the time, flying around in graphic silhouettes.

Instead of cutting from image to image, the shots evolve in a Bond-like style, as shapes take on different forms to reveal something else. In one look, Hilary will perform in silhouette, with a microphone where a gun would otherwise be. In another, her band will be the silhouette.

Hilary Duff is currently working on her film, Stay Cool, along with Winona Ryder, Josh Holloway and Chevy Chase. The film is due to be released sometime in 2009.

She has been dating Canadian NHL player Mike Comrie, 27, since 2007. He bought her a brand new $100,000 car for her twentieth birthday on September 28, 2007.
