Over 100,000 U.K. fans voted in Rimmel London’s World’s Greatest Popstars contest, selecting the Crazy In Love singer as the new Queen of Pop.

Beyonce saw off competition from nine other contenders, including Britney Spears and Madonna, and was announced as the winner at a live concert on Sunday (29Nov09) at London’s Earls Court, where a special tribute was performed in her honour.

The top 10 is:

A source close to the ’99 Problems’ rapper told National Enquirer magazine: “He’s normally very secretive but Jay-Z is so excited about the prospect of becoming a dad, he just let slip that they’re trying for ababy.”

Although Jay-Z has admitted he is ready for fatherhood, it seems Beyonce is trying to keep the couple’s baby plans under wraps.

The ‘Sweet Dreams’ singer – who has been married to the hip-hop star for 18 months – recently claimed she wasn’t ready to have ababy right now but does eventually want to be a mother.

She said: “It’s not time for that yet. But definitely there will be a time. I want to be a great mother, the kind of mother that I have. I want the same bond that I had with my mom and that would be enough for me.

“The security and love I feel being in a relationship, a marriage, it’s absolutely incredible. Incredible.”

The ‘Halo’ singer – who released her last album, ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’ at the end of 2008 – revealed her plans to work on a new LP during the next 12 months while she was performing to crowds at a concert in Nottingham, England at the weekend.

She told fans at the Trent FM Arena on Saturday (21.11.09): “I’ll see you in a year with a new album.”

Beyonce has spent the majority of this year touring and has released eight singles from the LP over the past few months.

Singer/songwriter Rickey Allen fired a lawsuit at Beyonce’s R&B girl group in 2006 over claims their 2004 track Cater 2 U was inspired by a song he composed with the same title, which he first copyrighted in the mid-1990s.

Allen’s song is about “relieving the stress of a significant other” and he insists even the lyrics in Destiny’s Child’s song are suspiciously similar to his.
He claimed he handed over a version of his song to producer Maurice Joshua, who is said to have later worked with the Bootylicious hitmakers in the studio. Joshua maintains he never held a copy of the song.

Lawyers for the trio, which disbanded in 2005, asked to throw out the case but U.S. District Judge James Holderman has now given the go-ahead for the copyright case to hit a Chicago, Illinois courtroom on 10 December (09).

And superstar Beyonce is expected to take the stand – because her legal team claim she came up with the idea for the track, according to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.

A statement in their legal filing reads, “She is perhaps the most important witness for the defendants.”

Allen’s lawyer Matt Wildermuth says, “Do we say (Beyonce’s) responsible for copying? Yes. But there’s no such thing as innocent copying, even if it’s unintentional. The jury will decide the notion that these are simple coincidences.”

The trial was previously delayed due to Knowles’ busy schedule.

The Poker Face star has hooked up with the Crazy In Love hitmaker for the R&B singer’s latest single Video Phone.

Gaga admits she had become jaded about meeting legendary artists, but insists working with Beyonce was a different matter.
She tells MTV.com, “You know she is such a beautiful person, and I gotta tell you, I just adore her. I had kind of lost faith a little bit in meeting artists in the business – and then I met Beyonce.
“She is a real, real woman. I have never laughed so hard on a video set in my life. We had the best time doing Video Phone.”

The ‘Sweet Dreams’ singer reportedly decided to delay taking her ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’ tour – originally due to arrive in capital Kuala Lumpur on October 25 – to the conservative country after the Malaysian Islamic Party lodged a complaint about her “Western sexy performance”.

Show organiser Marctensia confirmed the concert had been postponed indefinitely, but denied Beyonce had given in to religious pressures.

A statement read: “The postponement was solely the decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons.”

Malaysian law requires female artists to cover up from shoulder to knee, with no cleavage on display.

It’s not the first time Beyonce – who is famous for her sexy stage outfits and raunchy dance moves – has been targeted by clerics in the Asian country.

She cancelled a Malaysian concert in 2007 after the same political party threatened to protest outside the show venue.

Now Beyonce wants to channel her love of dance into a new computerised venture by creating a fun work-out for her devotees because she’s a big fan of Nintendo’s fitness game Wii Fit.

She tells Billboard, “I’d like to get involved in videogames, since I really love Wii Fit.
“I think it would be a great idea to incorporate choreography, because, for me, my workout is way more fun when it involves dancing, as opposed to running on a boring treadmill. So I would love to do some kind of fitness game but incorporate dance and performance into it. I think a lot of women would enjoy that.”

Beyonce became a spokesmodel for the Nintendo DS handheld console earlier this year (09).

Beyonce is said to have ordered her team to grab her the largest dressing area backstage, which was already claimed by Lindsay as she arrived before.

This incident has upset Lohan. “I have been a bit down after I was told to vacate the room. It was a strange night. Everyone was being aggressive and bothering me. I really didn’t like it,” she said.

Beyonce Knowles is taking secret ballet classes to brush up on her dancing skills.

The singer has enrolled herself for ballet tutorials in New York and attends classes without an entourage.

According to America’s Star magazine, the singer used Manhattan’s Ailey School to rehearse for her last tour, and now she has checked in for an open ballet class.
