Demi Moore underwent a bloodsucking leech treatment in a bid to stay young and healthy.
Speaking to David Letterman on ‘The Late Show’ on Monday, 45-year-old Moore admitted constantly searching for “the cutting edge in health and healing” and had the therapy during a stay at an Austrian spa last week.
Talking about the leeches, she said: “These aren’t swamp leeches; they were highly trained medical leeches. High level bloodsuckers.”
Explaining the purpose of the therapy, she added: “It detoxifies your blood. And they have a little [blood thinning] enzyme that when they are biting down on you is released in your blood.”
Describing the leech treatment, the actress said: “It crawls into your belly button and it bites down and then you relax and you watch it swell up and get fatter and fatter. And when its super drunk on your blood, it just rolls over like its drunk in a bar.”

The ‘Ghost’ star – who, at 45, is 15 years older than husband Ashton Kutcher – says it’s important not to worry too much about looks as it’s how you feel on the inside that matters.
Demi Moore – who was once rumoured to have spent over £220,000 on cosmetic surgery – is quoted as saying: “It’s important not to get yourself obsessed about that because it’s a game you’re going to lose. If you think you’re old and feel you’re done growing, then you are going to have a stale life around you.â€
Demi Moore also insists she has become more relaxed as the years have advanced. She added: “I place an importance on remembering not to take myself too seriously because I certainly have in the past.â€
Last year, the mother-of-three hit out at the ageism in Hollywood. She said: “There aren’t that many good roles for women over 40. A lot of them don’t have much substance, other than being someone’s mother or wife. If we are told we are not valuable once we hit 30, it is a problem. “We can’t just wait for something to happen. We have to say, ‘I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more.’”

And, i’m pretty sure, her photo in the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar cover get photoshopped.

Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher are ready to start a family. She’d better get to it before the menopause kicks in.
The 44-year old actress who already has three daughters with her ex-partner Bruce Willis wants to add to the family by spawning a child with her 29 year old toy boy Ashton.
She tells source: “We would love that. It would be just fantastic. We are doing lots of practising. And you can’t complain about practising with him.”
As for finding love with a man 15 years her junior, Demi says: “On paper, if someone had said: you are going to marry somebody who is 25, as he was then, who sees a woman with three kids as a bonus, I would have laughed.”
