Cate Blanchett and her husband Andrew Upton are celebrating this week after welcoming their third child - another baby boy.

The new arrival, named Ignatius Martin, was born at a Sydney hospital on Sunday and weighed in at a healthy 7lbs 9oz. “All are well and very happy” confirms the actress’ spokesperson.

The proud couple are already parents to six-year-old Dashiell John and Roman Robert, who turns four this month. Family oriented Cate and Andrew, who set up home in the UK in the early 2000s, returned to Sydney in 2007 to create a more permanent home for their ever-expanding brood. “(My children) need to be settled, and I respect that,” said the 38-year-old star at the time.

“It’s important to take the boys back to Sydney. Ultimately want them to be around their grandparents and cousins,” she revealed. “We were having an incredible time in England, but we were moving around a lot. We’d pack, re-pack and then we’d be off again, so we’re very much ready to settle. We’ve sort of been on the road for about ten years!”

After discovering SK-II skin care seven years ago, Blanchett has been a firm fan of the brand and signed up as their global ambassador in October last year. In celebration of her new role, SK-II have created Cate’s Essential Kit, containing all of the Oscar winner’s favourite products.

The set contains Facial Treatment Essence, Facial Treatment Repair C, and Facial Treatment Masks, a three part routine which aims to aid the skin’s renewal process, and lead to a brighter and more radiant complexion.

Of the Facial Treatment Repair C, Blanchett said, ‘I definitely see and feel a change in my skin’s texture after using Facial Treatment Repair C. It’s a highly concentrated moisturizing product that replenishes my skin, leaving it smooth and radiant.’

Commenting on her role, Blanchett revealed, ‘Throughout my career, I have only accepted roles that I am passionate about, and my partnership with SK-II is no different. I truly believe I already played this role as an ambassador long before SK-II caught up with me.’

Blanchett also stars in the advertising campaign for the range, which can be seen in stores from this month. The stunning shots by photographer Michael Thompson focus on the actress’s glowing skin, in a set of black and white portraits.

Cate’s Essentials Kit goes on sale in Selfridges today, and will be available form selected department stores from 2 May.
