The ‘Bad Romance’ hitmaker said: “Ironically, I’m even more proud it’s an unlucky number; 13. A long time ago the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard, together we changed the rules.”

Lady Gaga has received two nods for the coveted Video of the Year award, as well as nominations for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Best Choreography, among others.

Among the new nominees for the Katy Perry-hosted show revealed on Monday (July 12) were: Justin Bieber, B.o.B, Taio Cruz, Drake and Eminem in Choice Summer Music Star Male, with Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Perry and Rihanna all nominated in the female category.

As for Choice Summer Song, it will be Gaga (“Alejandro”) against B.o.B with Hayley Williams (“Airplanes”), Travie McCoy with Bruno Mars (“Billionaire”), Perry again with Snoop Dogg (“California Gurls”) and Ke$ha (“Your Love Is My Drug”).

The Choice Summer Movie race has major firepower, with a battle brewing between “The A-Team,” “Despicable Me,” “Grown Ups,” “Inception,” “The Karate Kid,” “Knight and Day,” “The Last Airbender,” “Salt,” “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Male movie stars vying for the prize include: Zac Efron in “Charlie St. Cloud,” Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” Adam Sandler in “Grown Ups” and Jaden Smith in “The Karate Kid,” while the female category will focus on Cameron Diaz in “Knight and Day,” Selena Gomez in “Ramona and Beezus,” Angelina Jolie in “Salt,” Emma Roberts in “Twelve” and Kristen Stewart in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.”

With “Eclipse” leading all nominees followed by Miley Cyrus and “Glee” with 13 each, the Teen Choice Awards will be handed out by Khloe, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, Logan Lerman, Zachary Levi, Ryan Sheckler and Yvonne Strahovski, who join previously announced presenters David Archuleta, Kristen Bell, John Cena, Miranda Cosgrove, Zac Efron, Victoria Justice, Jim Parsons and Shailene Woodley.

Nominations were also announced in the following categories: Choice Summer TV show (which includes bids for “Make It or Break It,” “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “So You Think You Can Dance”), Choice Male Summer TV Star (with “American Teenager” stars Ken Baumann and Daren Kagasoff earning nominations alongside “True Blood” star Stephen Moyer) and Choice Female Summer TV Star (with Nikki Blonksy of “Huge” going up against “True Blood” heroine Anna Paquin and “Teenager” star Shailene Woodley).

The TV star – who fronts ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and is the president of media company Harpo Productions – has topped the annual Most Powerful Celebrity poll conducted byForbes magazine, knocking Angelina Jolie off the top spot with earnings of $315 million last year.

The 56-year-old star was previously named top of the coveted list in 2007 and 2008, before Angelina – who is now in 18th position – took over from her in 2009.

The 2010 figures also include a number of new stars, with Lady Gaga flying into fourth place with earnings of $62 million, behind Beyonce Knowles with $87 million in second, and film director James Cameron in third with $210 million earned last year.

The Forbes Most Powerful Celebrity list looks at wealth, TV/radio popularity, press rank, web rank and social status – with even twitter followers being taken into consideration.

The 2010 poll placed ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson on the list for the first time, in 50th position following the success of the vampire movies, and after earning $17 million last year.

His co-star and rumoured girlfriend Kristen Stewart came 66th after earning $12 million from the franchise and working on new movie ‘The Runaways’.

Despite a tumultuous year in her personal life, Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock was placed eighth in the poll after pocketing $56 million in the past 12 months. She was just behind golfer Tiger Woods, who was placed fifth, Britney Spears, sixth, and rock band U2 – consisting of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. – who were placed seventh.

The popular US TV show is up for the Choice TV Show: Drama accolade, while its stars Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are all nominated in the Choice TV Actor: Drama and Choice TV Actress: Drama categories for their roles in the show.

In addition, Penn also competes for the Choice Movie Actor: Horror/Thriller accolade for his performance in ‘The Stepfather’ alongside Adam Brody, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jackie Earle Haley, and Micah Sloat.

Individually, Miley Cyrus and Zoe Saldana received the most nominations with three each.

Zoe is nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Action Adventure for her role in ‘The Losers’, Choice Movie Actress: Sci-Fi for her part in ‘Avatar’ and Choice Movie Actress: Comedy for ‘Death at a Funeral’.

Meanwhile, Miley has been recognised for both her music and acting talents. She will contest the Choice Music: Female Artist category along with Kesha, Lady Gaga, Shakira and Taylor Swift.

For her movie work, she is up for Choice Movie Actress: Drama for ‘The Last Song’ and also has a shared nomination with her ‘Last Song’ co-star and real-life boyfriend d Liam Hemsworth for the Choice Movie: Dance prize.

Katy Perry will host this year’s Teen Choice Awards, which take place on August 8 at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.

Miley, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are rumoured to be performing live at the ceremony.

“That’s so nice,” Bullock replied. “But we didn’t win.”

“Right…well…I thought you should have won…it was a great kiss,” said Johansson.

The two then slowly moved closer.

“It looked like such a great kiss,” said Johansson.

“It was,” Bullock told her. “It really was.”

They then kissed.

“Now that we have done that, can we please go back to normal – because therapy is really expensive,” she said.

This isn’t the first time Bullock has smooched a woman on stage: She kissed Meryl Streep at the 15th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in January.

The 16-year-old singer’s speedy rise to super-stardom, aided by R&B star Usher, has earned him a nod in the Best New Artist category at the upcoming ceremony, because he’s thought of as a “crossover” artist.

Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, said: “Bieber has crossed the colour boundaries the same way that hip-hop has crossed the boundaries the other way for a number of years. He’s had rhythm in his music. He makes the type of music our audience likes.”

The awards – which generally only recognise black entertainers, singers, actors and athletes – will see Justin battle it out against fellow rising stars Nicki Minaj, B.o.B, Young Money and Melanie Fiona.

Rapper Jay-Z has the most nominations with five and will compete with wife Beyonce Knowles for Video of the Year, Best Collaboration and the Viewers’ Choice accolade.

Other nominees include Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Kanye West.

Queen Latifah is set to present the ceremony which will air live on June 27 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Taylor Swift At Country Music DJ & Radio Hall of Fame banquet in Nashville

“I just got back from Japan,” Swift told the gathering. “I’ve been overseas for about a month. Arigatou gozaimasu [thank you very much]. That’s Japanese.”

Swift said she got her first impression of what country radio was like in 2005 when she visited Hammond’s station, WIVK, in Knoxville. She was 15 at the time.

Hammond was so impressed by the young singer that he invited her to sing on air. Later, he posed for a photo in front of the station with Swift and her record label president, Scott Borchetta.

After describing that encounter, Swift unveiled a huge poster of the photo.

“I was talking to Kenny Chesney the other day,” she continued and then added parenthetically, “Mike, I name-drop because I care.” She went on to explain that Chesney, who’s from the Knoxville area, had remarked to her about Hammond’s importance to his career.

While last year’s event, produced by Bill Condon and Laurence Mark, was berated in some quarters for “dumbing down”, the introduction of song and dance sequences featuring host Hugh Jackman, Beyoncé, as well as the stars of Mamma Mia! and High School Musical, helped boost viewing figures for the Oscars telecast, which had been on an annual decline, by 13%. This year the rather less twinkletoed duo of Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will co-host, but given that one of the new producers is Adam Shankman – a judge on the US reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance – it’s likely that there will be no shortage of razzle dazzle.

Other presenters named so far include past winners Kate Winslet, Sean Penn and Penélope Cruz. The most nominated films are Avatar and The Hurt Locker, with nine nods each.

The 82nd annual Academy Awards will take place on 7 March at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
