The remake of the classic story Sleeping Beauty will costar Meg Ryan.

Ashley Tisdale says having to Kiss Zac Efron on Disney show The Suite Life of Zach and Cody was “disgusting.”

“I did kiss Zac though. But that wasn’t in ‘High School Musical.’ That was on ‘Suite Life,’” she told MTV news. “That was behind closed doors. No, I’m just joking!”

“That was disgusting actually. It was! He’s my best friend and so he’s like my brother and I’ve never been attracted to him cause he looked like he was 12 when I met him so…”

“So when I had to kiss him in the episode I’m like first of all it’s my best friend’s boyfriend and it’s awkward enough. But it’s like kissing your brother almost… But he made it really fun and comfortable.”

I think many girls may be shocked to hear that she was far from happy about having to kiss the Hollywood heartthrob.

For millions of ‘High School Musical’ fans, Ashley Tisdale will forever be connected to the pink-loving, severely self-obsessed Sharpay Evans. But just as Evans has graduated from East High, Tisdale herself has moved on. With her second album, ‘Guilty Pleasure,’ the actress/singer shows she is all grown up, co-writing songs about heartache and friends with benefits with such hit makers as ‘American Idol’ judge Kara Dioguardi, and revealing herself in a way that Evans never would: “I think the whole album for me makes me very vulnerable, because it’s who I am,” she says. “I’ve put my heart in soul into this album.”
In an AOL Sessions interview taped shortly before her 24th birthday, Tisdale talks about her shock at winning an MTV Movie Award, if the old gang ever gets together and the line between sexy and suggestive.

The High School School Musical actress, Ashley Tisdale says she can’t watch scary flicks because her over-active imagination has given her sleepless nights when she is home alone.

“I can’t watch scary movies right now, because living on my own, it kind of freaks me out,” she says. “I tend to just watch comedies. As an actress you think I would understand but I have a big imagination and it gets scary.”

Aliens in the Attic, also starring Carter Jenkins and Ruby & The Rockits‘ Austin Butler, a group of kids must protect their Maine vacation home from invading aliens. The movie opens Friday, July 31st.

Ashley Tisdale will launch the “Get a Clue” Video Clue Contest on July 17, 2009, leading up to the release of her sophomore album, Guilty Pleasure.

Tisdale will post video clues that will take her fans on an online scavenger hunt to collect answers for a chance to fly away and meet her at one of her shows. Fans will have an opportunity to submit their answers to the video clues online on July 28, 2009, the release date of Guilty Pleasure.

The week of Guilty Pleasure’s release, Tisdale will appear on The Today Show on July 28, The View on July 29, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on July 30. Tisdale is also starring in the movie Aliens in the Attic, which hits theaters on July 31

Ashley Tisdale told MTV News that Jackson was a big influence on her music and the work of her “HSM” castmates.

“I’ve loved Michael Jackson, his music, his music videos,” Tisdale said. “I mean, the man made music videos what they are today. So, I’ve always been inspired by him. I think he’s such a great dancer.

“It was definitely a shock,” she added of Jackson’s sudden passing. “It’s really hard when a celebrity dies out of nowhere, ’cause it’s very shocking … surreal.”

Tisdale was looking forward to seeing what Ortega and Jackson would be debuting on July 13, when Jackson was scheduled to kick off his This Is It tour. She said she and her “HSM” buddies were going to make the trek overseas to see it for themselves.

“We were all gonna go see him in London and go visit and watch the show,” she said, adding that the show would have also included dancers from the “HSM” movies. “We had a lot of our dancers in the production as well. I know they’re going through as really hard time as well. Hopefully, he’s in a better place now.”

Ashley Tisdale is starting to get the hang of this music thing. Ashley performed three of her new songs off of her new album at Sunday night’s KISS 2009 concert in Boston, Massachusetts.

Her first studio album, Guilty Pleasure, will be available in stores on June 16.

In the mag, the 23-year-old “Acting Out” singer dished to the mag about her upcoming album, HSM and trying to leave behind her villainous character, Sharpay Evans.

“People only know me as my character [Sharpay]. So I’ve changed my hair and brought out the edgier me that I’ve never had the chance to express. I’m not trying to run away from HSM but I am growing up.”

The July issue of Sugar magazine hits stands May 27.

[Laughs] The first time that happened, I was at the house and I had the E! Channel on. I had just taken out my extensions — my hair wasn’t even dark yet, and they’re like, “’High School Musical’ star has a new ‘do!” I’m like, “New ‘do? What is this?” It’s so weird that this is news. But I knew going back to my dark color would raise eyebrows. I went to a ‘High School Musical 3′ premiere with my dark hair, and people were asking me, “Is this your way of saying goodbye to Sharpay?” But that’s not it at all. My hair has been through a lot these last three years, so I wanted to give it a rest, get it healthy and go back to my natural roots.

On her upcoming album, Guilty Pleasure: “It’s edgy. It’s an album to rock out to. It’s definitely sexier. I have a sexy side to me, but it’s more of a fun sexy. Sure, I’m a nice girl, but there’s also a part of me that wants to be rebellious.”

On her relationship with V Factory’s Jared Murillo: “It’s a normal relationship. He’s a good person, but it took a while. I’m angsty because I’ve been screwed over a lot. But after a while, you realize you can’t carry the baggage. I would hope the ring would be bigger if I were engaged.”

On being constantly busy: “I just love to be busy. I love doing movies. I love producing. I love doing music. I love doing TV. I love being busy. I can take a week’s vacation — maybe a week and a half — but after that, I’m itching to go back to work. I just love what I do.”

Ashley Tisdale Talks About Zac Efron

Ashley Tisdale, plays Sharpay Evans in the tween phenomenon High School Musical films. Tisdale has been acting since she was three and has been a regular in Disney productions since leaving school. She’s also enjoying success in the US with a spin-off pop career. High School Musical 3: Senior Year is in cinemas this week.

What’s the secret of High School Musical’s success?
It’s because we have so much fun filming the movies. We have a great chemistry and that shows on screen. There aren’t many wholesome films parents can let their children watch without worrying, so I’m honoured to be part of it.

Do you consider yourself a role model to your young fans?
No, nobody’s perfect. I’m just a normal human being living out my dreams, loving what I do. If kids look up to me and like me for who I am, that’s amazing – what you see is what you get – I don’t try to be anyone else.

Who did you look up to as a child?
I looked up to my mom. She has a lot of confidence and taught me never to give up. This business is 90 per cent rejection and it feels like you’re never going to get to where you want to be. I thought about giving it up but my luckily Mom talked me out of it and I got my role on the Disney show The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody soon afterwards.

What were your back-up plans?
I wanted to do creative writing at college – I love to write. My parents taught me not to put all my eggs in one basket so I finished high school. When Zack & Cody got picked up, I’d just graduated and I’ve been busy from then on. I worked in clothing stores while I was at school just to have something to fall back on.

What are the highs and lows of working in a clothes shop?
Retail is horrible. I worked at four different stores. My parents wanted me to learn the value of a dollar, even though I’ve been in showbusiness since I was three. I chose the stores I liked to shop at so I could get the staff discounts. One of my managers hated me and would make me do the lamest jobs such as pick gum off the floor that had been there for five years. There’d be no way I could get it up. It taught me a lot of life lessons. I was shy and it taught me how to sell.

You’re 23 but play a high school student. Do people treat you as if you’re younger?
Yes. People who don’t know me often talk to me as if I’m 16. Even though I look young, I’m mature. I knew what I wanted at an early age.

Do you get asked for ID all the time when you go out?
I don’t drink or smoke, so there aren’t any occasions where I’d need to show anyone my driving licence.

Are you worried High School Musical will prevent you getting serious acting roles in the future?
No. I don’t want to run away from my fans and I realise I’ll play high school students for a couple more years yet, maybe just in edgier comedies. Who knows?

Did Vanessa Hudgens’ nude pictures appearing on the internet cause a High School Musical crisis?
I don’t talk about her personal life but I love her and she’s my best friend. She’s a great person and I’ll always be there for her no matter what.

Are you excited about the US election?
Yes I am. Totally. I know who I’m going to vote for but I’m keeping that to myself.

Does Zac Efron really have terrible BO?
That’s so not true. He’s the cleanest person I know.

Are you happy with how your nose job turned out?
I’ve explained myself enough about that. I did it for medical reasons to correct a deviated septum and I don’t look much different.

Have you ever had a supernatural experience?
Yes. I was shooting a film in New Zealand and thought my hotel room was haunted. Lights would go on and off and I’d hear things being thrown around the room. I could tell something was there. I like to believe maybe it was just electrical problems, though.
