Ashlee Simpson has confirmed the pregnancy rumours.

The sister of Jessica Simpson, 23-year-old Ashlee married her boyfriend Pete Wentz from the band Fall Out Boy in a ceremony on May 17th.

Reported by People magazine, there has been immense media speculation that the Boyfriend singer could be pregnant and the couple have now confirmed the reports on Wentz’s official band blog.

After explaining that they were waiting until after the first trimester to make the official announcement, the couple wrote: “This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family.”

While she has the happy news of her wedding to cheer her up, Ashlee Simpson’s music career is in the crapper. The so-called singer is going on tour this summer and she is set to play state fairs and House of Blues venues across America. Ashlee went on a club tour earlier this year. When she toured her last album, she played large venues. Now, she’s at a House of Blues near you. That has to hurt. Her tour schedule covers about a month kicking off on June 9th at the House of Blues in Chicago and wrapping up on July 1st at Capital One Bank Theatre at Westbury, New York.

The couple tied the knot in a Gothic-themed ceremony at Ashlee’s parents’ home in California on Saturday.

But the bride stuck to a more traditional look for her outfit, wearing an ivory lace gown by Monique Lhuillier with a cathedral-length veil.

Pete, 28, bassist for Fall Out Boy, dressed in a Dior Homme tuxedo and bow tie.

Ashlee’s dad Joe Simpson officiated at the ceremony – and her pet dog was a ring bearer.

Big sister Jessica Simpson attended with her on-off boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo.

The youngest Simpson sister is reportedly set to tie-the-knot with Fallout Boy frontman Pete Wentz on Saturday evening at Joe’s mansion within a gated community in Encino, Calif. The musicians started dating in the fall of 2006 and announced their engagement on April 9, fueling rumors that Simpson is “expecting.”

An inside source told Tarts that plans were to keep the ceremony pretty “small and intimate” and that it was to be attended only by close family and friends.

On Saturday morning Pop Tarts observed several large trucks and people going coming and going and at the residence.

Jessica Simpson also apparently hosted a rehearsal dinner for her 23-year-old sister in her Beverly Hills home Friday evening.
