The public now can discover that she was delighted by rough sex, ecstatic over the prospect of plastic surgery for her breasts, and fearful of a jealous boyfriend. She was careless with spelling, punctuation, and, too often, with her own well-being.

Complaining about her then-lover’s carousing, Smith writes that she’ll break it off with him if he doesn’t stop. Then she amends her stand, according to new diary excerpts released exclusively to The Associated Press.

“We discussed it and he said he wouldn’t go out and get drunk no more unless it was with me,” Smith wrote in the diaries, which span about a year from early 1991 to 1992.

On an evening out a few weeks later with the same man (identified only by first name), Smith wrote that she got drunk and “asked a guy for his #.”

Her boyfriend “came unglued. threw me out of his house & broke up with me it was awlful he hit me and my mother,” she said.

The model and former Playboy Playmate, who was born Vickie Lynn Smith, was found dead on Feb. 8 in Hollywood, Fla., of a toxic mix of prescription drugs.

Copies of 60 diary pages were provided to the AP by Universal Rarities, a Corona-based auction house. The diaries were purchased from a memorabilia shop by a group of investors, who sold two of them to a German businessman for more than $500,000.

Those diaries were from 1992 and 1994 and included references to elderly Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, whom Smith married in 1994 and who died the next year.

The newly released handwritten diary pages are from a different diary and will be posted online at urauctions.com, said Thomas Riccio, a partner in Universal Rarities.

Smith’s tone in the entries veers between simple joy and deep-seated unhappiness.

One entry begins, “I’m a very sad person,” and is illustrated by a weeping face. Smith goes on to write that “my mom hates me so much. She is so jealous of me. … I love my mom but I cant handle it anymore.”
She posts intimate details of an active sex life in often-graphic language. She rails against her boyfriend and, in the same scrawled entry, celebrates her upcoming breast surgery.

“I’m so excited I could scream. Ahhhhh I just feel so happy,” Smith writes, although she later expresses worry about the imminent operation and how she’ll look.

One of the more poignant passages deals with her shock at finding she’s pregnant.

“I’m so scared! How can this happen to me,” she writes, adding that her boyfriend “will hate me. he don’t want kid. Can’t do it!”

She underlined the last phrase.

Smith later had two children. Son Daniel died last September at age 20 of a lethal combination of drugs, three days after Smith gave birth to a daughter, Dannielynn. Larry Birkhead was found to be the baby’s father.

In the end, though, Anna Nicole Smith simply closed her eyes and slipped away.

The announcement Monday that the former Playboy Playmate died of an accidental drug overdose marks the end of a more than six-week investigation and halted — at least temporarily — widespread murmurs that Smith may have been murdered or simply too stricken to go on without her son Daniel, who died just five months before her.

Many theorized there was a connection between the deaths of mother and son and those assumptions won’t fade so easily, particularly with an inquest into the younger Smith’s death set to begin Tuesday in the Bahamas.

Jurors there were expected to hear from dozens of witnesses — including Dr. Cyril Wecht, a forensic pathologist hired by Smith’s family, and Smith’s lawyer-turned-companion Howard K. Stern — as they consider whether Daniel’s death should be ruled an accident, suicide or perhaps even homicide.

But in Florida on Monday, the message was clear: Smith died because of a lethal combination of drugs she likely didn’t know could kill her.

“We found nothing to indicate any foul play,” said Chief Charlie Tiger of the Seminole Police Department.

Broward County Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Perper said the powerful sleeping drug chloral hydrate and at least eight other prescription drugs formed a lethal combination along with a case of the flu and a bacterial infection Smith had developed from injecting drugs into her buttocks.

He said Smith had been taking a lengthy list of medications, including methadone for pain and valium, but those drugs were at therapeutic levels; she also had been on several antidepressant and anti-anxiety drugs and had recently taken longevity medications, vitamin B12 and growth hormone.

Chloral hydrate, the drug primarily blamed for Smith’s death, was also a factor in the death of her idol Marilyn Monroe some 45 years ago. Smith attempted to model her career after Monroe, tattooed the icon’s image on her body and even sought to be buried near her, though she ultimately was laid to rest in the Bahamas after a long court battle over her remains.

“I never told anyone this,” Frank Rodriguez told “The Insider” in an exclusive interview. “She asked me to swear I would never, ever ever tell anybody.”

Rodriguez said he is speaking out now because he doesn’t like people calling the late starlet “a drug addict.”

“She had a very serious condition, and I think people are entitled to know the truth,” he said.

Rodriguez said he met Smith and her late son, Daniel, at Disneyland in 1996. He was working for guest relations at the time and was her tour guide on more than one occasion.

“We had a very special friendship,” he said.

Smith revealed to Rodriguez that she had lupus in 1998.

“Her whole body would ache,” he said. “She would just shut down basically, she would sleep for days on. … She pulled me aside and she told me that she was on medication for it.” [Source]

The tape, which aired Monday night on Greta Van Susteren’s show on FOX News Channel, shows an eight-months pregnant Smith, her face painted like a clown and clearly stoned out of her mind. As she talks to a doll in a baby carriage as if it’s real, Stern repeatedly says, “Is this a mushroom trip?” He then adds, “I’m kidding.”

Playboy model and reality-TV star Anna Nicole Smith, who battled for years for the fortune of an octogenarian billionaire she married at 26, has died after being found unconscious in a Florida hotel room.

The buxom, platinum-blonde former Guess fashion spokeswoman and Playboy Playmate was found in a room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, north of Miami, Seminole police chief Charlie Tiger said. She was 39.

“The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner,” said Tiger.

Smith’s younger sister Donna Hogan told CNN she guessed the death could be drug-related. “My heart is beating fast. I’m just very upset,” said an emotional Hogan.

Tiger said Smith had checked into the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Monday, accompanied by her lawyer and companion Howard Stern. He said Smith’s private nurse found her, that a bodyguard performed CPR on her and that she died at the medical center.

Another Smith attorney, Ron Rale, said he did not know the cause of death.

Smith’s death follows by four months the sudden death of her son Daniel, 20, who died in September in the Bahamas.

That came just days after Smith gave birth to a girl whose paternity has been disputed by a former boyfriend and Stern.

It was a tragic end to one of US pop culture’s larger-than-life Cinderella stories, and her former lawyer, Lenard Leeds, said she had emulated her idol Marilyn Monroe in death.

“She wanted to be like Marilyn her whole life and ironically died in a similar manner,” he said.

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner described Smith as a dear friend.

“I am very saddened to learn about Anna Nicole’s passing,” Hefner said in a statement. “She was a dear friend who meant a great deal to the Playboy family and to me personally.”

The animal protection group PETA said Smith “was a great friend to animals.
