The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said today that actress Brittany Murphy’s cause of death was pneumonia “exacerbated” by multiple drug intoxication.
Murphy also suffered from iron deficiency and anemia, Harvey said, adding that the star, who died December 20, “wasn’t the healthiest person in the world.”
The coroner ruled that Murphy’s death was accidental and that there was no evidence of wrongdoing involved. Simon Monjack, Murphy’s husband, and her mother had said how the star had been experiencing flu like symptoms in the run up to the day she died.
The actress, who died at the age of 32 collapsed at her LA home and was pronounced dead in the hospital. Murphy will be best remembered for her roles in movies such as “Clueless”, “Sin City” and “8 Mile.”
