Troubled pop-tart Britney Spears could be facing a child abuse investigation, according to reports.
US gossip websites and numerous publications are reporting that lawyers for both Britney and ex Kevin Federline were present at a court hearing on Monday.
Also present at the hearing was a lawyer who investigates child abuse claims.
Website MSNBC quoted Los Angeles criminal defence attorney Steve Cron, as saying that if the 25-year-old’s children were in danger there would be an investigation.
The website went on to claim that the matter could end up in a full hearing, where Britney and K-Fed can both call witnesses and experts to make their respective cases.
MSNBC added that it was not known whether the concerns were over one or both parents.
