Ben Affleck has been named Entertainer of the Year by in Entertainment Weekly’s annual list.
The 40-year-old Hollywood actor was awarded the title following his impressive acting and directing in his recent thriller, Argo.
“Having captivated moviegoers both in front of and behind the camera with Argo, Ben Affleck earned the number one spot on our annual list of the most talented and original performers who entertained us in 2012,” EW writes.
Affleck’s efforts with Argo, which is the third feature film he’s directed, could well earn him an Oscar. The movie centres around CIA operative Tony Mendez, played by Affleck himself, who leads the rescue of six US diplomats from Tehran amid the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.
Last year’s Entertainer of the Year was Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.
