Avril Lavigne “Girlfriend” Got Huge Hits on Youtube

Avril Lavigne’s video “Girlfriend” got a lot of hits on Youtube. Actually, it is one of the most watched videos on Youtube until now and now the pop star’s manager says YouTube owes her $2 million for all the views.

The video, which blew past previous No. 1 clip “The Evolution of Dance” Thursday to become YouTube’s most-viewed video ever, has been watched more than 92 million times, Avril’s fans have been banding together to inflate the play count artificially by using a constantly refreshing website that adds one pageview every 15 seconds to her music video.

A YouTube spokesperson made the following statement: “We have safeguards in place that limit the efficiency of this type of behavior, to make sure that advertising campaigns running on YouTube only reach legitimate viewers and are in no way affected by inflated view counts or gaming activities.”
