Avril Lavigne has earned $1 million from people watching the video to her hit single Girlfriend online.
The promo has clocked over 100 million hits on video sharing site YouTube.com since it was posted on the internet by RCA record company executives last year (07) – and Lavigne’s earnings have rocketed as a result.
Every time the video is viewed, an advert is played and the singer receives a fee, reports Gigwise.com
