Angelina Jolie has reportedly stepped up security after rumours circulated of a plot to kidnap son Pax Thien for a £50/US $98M million ransom.
Bodyguards are said to have heard of a “credible and meticulously planned” bid to snatch the recently-adopted three-year-old as he was flown back from Vietnam.
Angelina and Brad would have had a few days to pay up or risk the boy’s life, it was alleged.
Reports also claim that the gang behind the plot has a track record of pulling off kidnappings.
A security insider said: “They’re highly skilled operatives with little regard for human life.
“The gang ordered their LA members to devise a plan to kidnap Pax before demanding a ransom of £50 million – equal to the profit from a year of drug dealing.”
But last night, a spokesman for Brad denied the story.
Angelina, 31, has two other adopted children – Zahara, two, from Ethiopia and five-year-old Maddox from Cambodia. Nine-month old Shiloh is her first child with Brad.
