Beyonce Knowles is convinced she took a huge risk by playing the lead role in new film Cadillac Records.
The Crazy In Love hitmaker stars as iconic singer Etta James in the movie, which documents the history of one of America’s most famous record labels.
And Knowles feared she would ruin her ‘good girl’ image by playing James, who battled numerous drug addictions throughout her life.
But the singer is delighted with the end result, insisting the role has actually had a positive effect on her.
She tells Billboard magazine: “I realised that Etta James was so unapologetic, bold and strong that playing her was a big risk for me. It gave me the confidence and the push to challenge myself a little more with my music”

Rihanna scared thousands of fans by collapsing on stage during a live performance.
The 20-year-old brunette doubled over clutching her stomach at the concert in Sydney, Australia.

She had to leave the stage just seconds after starting her final song of the night - the duet Umbrella - leaving boyfriend Chris brown alone to finish it.

Rihanna, from Barbados, was put on a stretcher and taken to hospital, where medics said she had suffered dehydration.

A spokesman for the star said: “It was very hot at the venue, so after Rihanna’s set was over, she went offstage and needed to sit down, catch her breath and have some water.”

Madonna is set to follow in the steps of Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson and Uma Thurman as the latest face of French luxury brand Louis Vuitton, according to new reports.
The pop star has reportedly signed on as the face of the fashion giant’s Spring 2009 campaign, and a superstar team has been lined-up for the collaboration.
Celebrity fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have reportedly teamed up to shoot the star for the project.

Madonna’s kids may expect company in following their mum’s strict rules that of their father, Guy Ritchie, who has allegedly been issued a Do’s and Don’t list while being with the kids.

According to the Mirror, they are:

Guy can’t introduce the kids to any “new friends”;

He can’t be photographed with them - which he has;

Fast food is completely out of the question as they must stick to a macrobiotic, vegetarian, organic diet and only drink Kabbalah water;

They are not allowed to read newspapers or magazines, nor watch TV or DVDs;

All the clothes they wear are to be 100 per cent natural materials;

Their toys must be spiritually and ethically sound;

And when they are out in public their hands must be cleaned with disinfectant spray.

The other instructions are:

Guy must not discuss break-up; Madonna must be able to speak to them three times a day; and bedtime story for David must be from Madge’s English Rose books

In an interview in the December issue of Vogue, Jennifer Aniston said that Angelina Jolie should not have revealed details of her relationship with Pitt in a 2007 interview with Vogue.

Jennifer Aniston said: “There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.”

Jennifer Aniston also told Vogue that she still talked to her ex-husband and that they occasionally exchanged “very kind hellos and wishing you wells”.
