Rihanna, Kate Hudson and Charlize Theron are amidst the 10 best-dressed women of 2008, according to a list compiled by People magazine’s fashion editors based on celebrities who made an impact this year.

Pop singer Rihanna was selected for her “sugar and spice” style and her “sophisticated mix of glamorous gowns and funky dresses.

Actress Gywneth Paltrow, whom People dubbed “better than ever,” earned praise for “revving up her classic look” and shortening her famously long locks, as well as her hemlines.

Rounding out the list were actresses Kate Hudson for her “haute hippie, effortless taste,” Eva Mendes for her “pretty and polished” choices, Charlize Theron for her daring “bold and beautiful” threads and Sarah Jessica Parker for perfecting the “expert eclectic look.”

A surprising, or perhaps not so surprising, inclusion in the list is Michelle Obama, because she “wowed along the campaign trial with confidence in polished looks

The talented Ms Alicia Keys will be in the movie history books when she becomes one of the voices behind a new theme song for the forthcoming soundtrack to the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

Alicia will be singing with White Stripes frontman Jack White, on a track which will be called Another Way To Die - the first duet in Bond soundtrack history.

The Sin City star, Rosario Dawson, admits she has always been keen to adopt because she is adopted herself - and now that yearning is greater than ever.

She tells Latina magazine, “That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I’ve been thinking about it more.
”My mother and grandmother are extraordinary women, and they’re getting older. It struck me recently that one day I might be sitting around with my children, going ‘Your grandma was an amazing woman; I really wish you could’ve known her.’
“That makes me sad ‘cause it would be a waste to not have these people know each other. Whatever time I have, I want it.”

Rosario Dawson also is making plans to start a family because she can’t imagine her kids growing up without knowing her mother and grandmother.

Jennifer Aniston has laughed off reports she is devastated about her recent split from rocker John Mayer, insisting she is happy to move on.

John Mayer has since reportedly moved on and reunited with former love Maria Marin - and tabloids claimed Aniston was heartbroken, but she is keen to show the public she is content with life as a single woman, and claims she doesn’t mind the media interest in her love life.

She tells Britain’s Hello! magazine, “I’ve been dealing with it (media speculation) for years and it still feels odd. But I’m grateful that the public is still interested in my life and my movies - and I hope that I can justify their interest.
“People are so kind, ultimately. And I’m happy so don’t worry about me!”
