It’s no secret that Joe Simpson has quite the thumb on his two star-studded daughters. It seems he is even reigning over Ashlee’s “big day.”
The youngest Simpson sister is reportedly set to tie-the-knot with Fallout Boy frontman Pete Wentz on Saturday evening at Joe’s mansion within a gated community in Encino, Calif. The musicians started dating in the fall of 2006 and announced their engagement on April 9, fueling rumors that Simpson is “expecting.”
An inside source told Tarts that plans were to keep the ceremony pretty “small and intimate” and that it was to be attended only by close family and friends.
On Saturday morning Pop Tarts observed several large trucks and people going coming and going and at the residence.
Jessica Simpson also apparently hosted a rehearsal dinner for her 23-year-old sister in her Beverly Hills home Friday evening.
Despite break-up reports, Jessica Simpson will bring Tony Romo as her date to Ashlee Simpson’s weekend wedding, a source said.
Jessica, 27, will be maid of honor at her 23-year-old sister’s wedding to rocker Pete Wentz. A source close to Jessica tells PEOPLE that Romo will be attending the event with Jessica.
Getting a head start, on Friday Jessica and Romo met for lunch at Katsuya in Hollywood. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, dressed casually in shorts and sneakers, arrived at the restaurant in a cab for the lunch with Simpson, who wore a sexy black short-shorts and high heels. He greeted the singer with a kiss and helped her out of her Range Rover.
The lunch date comes as Simpson’s rep denies newspaper and Internet reports that Romo and Simpson have broken up. “It’s not true,” rep Cindi Berger said.

According to The National Enquirer, a Hollywood dinner on May 8th was just one in series of meetings between the pop and the Maloof Brothers, who own the famed Palms.
“Britney is working very hard to get in shape and hopes to make a splashy comeback in Las Vegas,” says an Enquirer snitch. “She wants the show to be full of high energy and flashy costume changes.”
Britney could be in for a $10 million payday if the singer’s management team can convince the Maloofs to hire her. If those shows are sell-outs, the former teen idol could be land a longer contract for performances.
Britney’s hoping that the predictable schedule of a nightly show will help her balance performing and motherhood.
Carmen Electra’s relationship with Korn bassist Rob Patterson seems to be in peril. The actress, who gained popularity as a Playboy model and Baywatch actress, is upset over the engagement ring, which is not so expensive.
Perezhilton.com reports that just three weeks ago Carmen sported a black diamond engagement ring on her finger, but when she discovered that the ring costs less than $2,000, she got upset.
“She seems really embarrassed. I think the ring is a real deal breaker. She thought she’d be getting this giant rock. Instead, Rob bought it online for a bargain price,” said an insider.
The insider added: “Rob doesn’t have a lot of money coming in and he’s been driving around in Carmen’s car while she’s working. He’s a total freeloader. Carmen’s starting to realise that Rob may not be able to hold up his end of the bargain.
“They aren’t breaking up tomorrow. She’s shooting the movie Goodie Two Shoes in Louisiana and has lots of appearances lined up, so she and Rob won’t be together that much. The less time they spend together, the longer the relationship will drag on, but it won’t last. She’ll come to her senses.”
Keira Knightley had to sing in ‘The Edge of Love’, in which she plays Vera Philips the lover of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, and admits she found it incredibly tough.
Keira Knightley said: “I did some lessons with a voice coach because I can’t sing. It was live. There were 100 extras and the director John Maybury was like, ‘Now you’re going to sing.’
“I’ve never been so frightened in my entire life. I never want to do it again. I don’t want to be a rock star. “
In the film - which also stars Sienna Miller, Cillian Murphy and Matthew Rhys - Keira sings ‘Blue Tahitian Moon’, as well as renditions of ‘Maybe It’s Because I Love You Too Much’ and ‘Drifting And Dreaming’.
‘The Edge of Love’, which was written by Keira’s mother Sharman Macdonald, is set during World War II and is due for release on June 28.

The Workout

Their sessions include three cardio segments – on the elliptical, as well as kickboxing and then a stairs or hill climb – then also does a strength-training routine that include abdominal work and leg exercises.

Charlize Theron’s letting the media know that she’ll no longer stand for rude questions about her looks.
She tells the new issue of W magazine, “You better not be bringing up ugly.” Theron insists she did nothing to play down her stunning looks in North Country or The Valley of Elah - two films, for which her characters were called less than attractive.
She fumes, “North Country was dirt. That’s what happens when you go into a mine.
“In the Valley of Elah - that’s when I took real offence, because that was just my real hair colour and me with no makeup.” And the Oscar-winner is also annoyed by people who think she chooses `ugly’ roles to win awards and favour as a serious actress.
She adds, “It really irks me that people think I choose these roles because, if I’m not looking attractive, they will take me seriously. I’m sorry, but if I’m going to play a cop, I’m not going to be wearing eyeliner.
“I’m not going to wake up in a scene with lip gloss on, because that’s not how women wake up, not even the most beautiful women.”
Christina Ricci will star in the drama “Long Time Gone,” playing a mysterious woman who enters the life of a dysfunctional family and turns it upside down, one member at a time.
Anjelica Huston, Josh Lucas and Justin Bartha also star. Adam Davidson will direct the GreeneStreet Films project from an adaptation of April Stevens’ 1994 debut novel “Angel Angel.” Davidson won an Oscar for his 1989 short “The Lunch Date.”

The 27-year-old mama-to-be, Jessica Alba attempts to set the record straight on her career priorities in the new issue of Allure: Commerce over art every time, unless there’s a bikini involved.
When asked why she hasn’t appeared in more independent, art-house fare, the expectant star gives a refreshingly candid answer, if not one that’ll likely keep Sundance at bay for quite some time.
“To me, box office is the most important thing,” she says. “If the movie makes money, then I’m fine.”
You gotta give the girl some credit for honesty.
“I grew up not having a lot. I’m really happy to be making money, not depending on a man, and not having to suffer to survive in this business. Struggling is not fun. Been there, done that.”
Despite her share of skimpily clad roles, Alba grouses about being objectified.
“They always play up your sexuality, because that’s what gets men into the theaters,” she says. “And I never really gave a s–t about all that stuff!”
Though not, it should be said, due to any prudish reservations about the topic.
“I don’t think sex is a big deal. I hated the hypocrisy of it. Men can do whatever, and it’s acceptable.”
There again Alba is putting her money where her mouth is, possibly winning over a more feminist base, but effectively writing herself out of any future safe-sex endorsement campaigns. Not that there's any money in PSAs, anyway.
“I can’t say it was a total accident, because you’re aware of when you’re being careful and when you’re not,” the knocked-up star says of the bun in her ever-expanding oven. “It just happened so soon!”
“It,” of course, being her gestating celebuspawn with fiancé Cash Warren, a pregnancy that Alba is the first to admit hasn’t gone entirely smoothly.
“I kicked him out, but it wasn’t like that—totally. When you’re pregnant, your emotions are more tense. If the shoes are in the wrong place, you kind of lose your mind. Then he just laughs, gives me a hug and tells me it’s okay.”

Jessica Alba takes on the guise of screen comedy’s first iconic figure, Charlie Chaplin – all for the June issue of Allure.
In the course of the accompanying interview, the pregnant Alba, 27, opens up about her sexy public image and how she finally learned to feel comfortable with her body.
Some highlights from the interview:
On Her Steamy Public Image:“[Hollywood] always play[s] up your sexuality, because that’s what gets men into the theaters. And I never really gave a s— about all that stuff! It’s nothing to be ashamed of. But it is definitely not what I am about by any means!”
On Owning Her Sexuality:“I don’t think I was comfortable with my sexuality until I was an adult, probably, like, 22 – that’s when I stopped apologizing and stopped feeling ashamed. I did the Vagina Monologues in L.A. That made me proud.”
On Sex Before Marriage: “I never believed women had to be virgins when they got married, or that a woman has to fall in love with a guy just because they’re having sex. I don’t think sex is a big deal. I hated the hypocrisy of it. Men can do whatever, and it’s acceptable.”
